Remote Scalping

Discussion in 'Trading' started by OVERtheLINE, Sep 29, 2002.

  1. Im using cable (2mbts) speed with dsl (1.1 mbts) as a backup.
I have gr8trade with its DJ news feed for news, and 2, 21 inch monitors for executing between 150-200 trades a day.

Any other remote scalpers out there? what are you using? hows it working out?

  2. is much simpler ...

    only 1 monitor 17 inch
cable (do not get up to your speed , so I am envious)

I can do 10 - 50 mini stock index futures trades
    and 50 - 200 equity trades in a day

    my broker is IB ....

I have a dual monitor (17 inch) and a second computer for order entry only.

I do about 30 trades a day around 100,000 shares - works fine. Have been trading out of my house since 1995 never had a problem with connectivity speed etc.

4 21" monitors for charts, a 19 and two 17's for order entry, a laptop for spoos chart and a squawk box. Trading all listed stocks, mostly sectors and scalping a few regulars every day. I trade remote with a pro firm using a cable internet connection.

300 point moves in the Dow are like printing money, but most days it's scraping for modest gains. Consistent though and rarely have a down day.

  5. Is the squawk box useful?

    thanks
