Religious views of taxation

  1. I've been looking for info on the perspective of taxation from the major religions of the world.

What if paying taxes were a violation of your religious beliefs? How would that be handled by the US constitution?

I believe the Koran has something against paying interest. It's not too far a leap to think there may be a religion out there that talks about taxation.

I found Christian Reconstructionism on wikipedia which claims to oppose confiscatory taxation, conscription, and most aspects of the welfare state. But it didn't have any links to bible verses that could be used in court :)
