Religion is a hypothesis.

  1. Pure BS, the existence/nature of the universe is precisely what is in question or you are stuck with the "something from nothing" assertion.

Just as the atheist dismisses all evidence around him of God existence so too do scientists discover much to their dismay matter is composed of more and more "nothingness".

The harder they try to discover the basic building blocks of matter the more nothingness they find.

Sorry if you find the truth disconcerting.
[/QUOTE]Stu has already dismantled your sophistry quite nicely, but here's my own two cents, just to conclude my input into this now pointless discussion.

The very fact that you would now question the existence of the universe marks you as either a lunatic or a troll. Both are dismissable.

The very fact that you would insist that there is evidence for your god by pointing to the same universe that you now question the existence of marks you as the greatest sort of fool.

As I've said before, willful ignorance (aka willful stupidity) is a vital component of most theisms.

Captain Obvious has made some interesting conjectures, and while they may not be evidenced, at least they have internal consistency. A pity you and 777 haven't reached that step in your thinking processes.

Science may never come to a consensus on cosmogony, but I wonder in passing what form your intellectual dishonesty will take when science creates abiogenesis in a laboratory. :D :p

stew has dismantled nothing except his own objectivity.

Your perception of my lack of internal inconsistency stems only from your ignorance.

captain oblivious's conjecture's have more merit than you realize as I hinted at before but you fools missed it.

All I'm willing to say is there are more advanced thought experiments/realizations that shed light on the subject but I won't be casting those pearls of wisdom to the swine.

It's going to be a very long time before the mechanistic approach to God has any practical answers.

  4. Mainstream science as no clue what gravity is. We can estimate its affects but we have no clue what it is or how to control it.

The military knows how to manipliate it but they ain't telling. As a matter of fact, all this carbon tax nonsense may be some faction trying to get the military technology into the public domain.

This is what happens when people like 777 get their "science" from a religious website. They actually believe nonsense like "gravity can't be measured" or the Big Bang theory assumes "something out of nothing."

Willful ignorance is a terrible state of mind.

We have problem people in both camps that want nothing more than the disappearance of the other camp. In my opinion, I doubt I'm alone, these camps can coexist.

  10. You keep stating this counter-factual argument.

BBT either implies it or assumes the condition of "something out of nothing" as it's starting point.

Same for darwinian evolution : it assumes a miracle first (hoping you won't notice) and goes on to suppose a satisfactory explanation of process.
