I take it then you don't agree with TraderZones in that ..."researched logic and be open minded yourself"... idea. Kindergarten debate is what you prefer? It's clear, someone who holds no rational motive for a belief in God, and therefore has no belief in God , does not have a belief - period. Also they are by definition atheist. If you don't mind me saying, your viewpoint on this appears very narrow, almost myopic. No offense intended.
I don't think I missed his point, I gave him "points" for stating it. Perhaps I should not have used that word.
"You can simply have no reason to believe there is. Having no reason to believe is not a belief." Categorically wrong. A true agnostic would have no reason to believe there is a God, and equally no reason to believe there is not a God... Atheists willingly hold the belief that there is no God...even though they have never put forth a test that would reasonably verify whether or not there actually is a God. The atheist fundamentally exercises the tool faith in their conclusion that "there is no reason to believe in God."
Difference is atheists claim their beliefs are based on facts when there are no facts to prove their belief system. Believers on the other hand will readily admit that they have no facts and that they believe on faith alone. Atheists are hypocrites who refuse to admit that theirs is a faith based system that is not supported by facts. John
You are confusing Atheism with Agnosticism. Atheism is the belief that there is no God. This belief makes Atheism a belief system. A belief system that is not based on facts but solely on faith. Agnosticism says that the truth is unknown or unknowable. Agnosticism is not a belief system in that no position is taken. John
A true agnostic has a disbelief in any claims of ultimate knowledge. Agnosticism is a denial of ultimate knowledge of the existence of God. From that standpoint an agnostic is a closet atheist. You appear to be portraying a blinkered view like that imposed by restrictive religious thinking. The anology is, you are suggesting a person can only be Long in the market and if they are not, then they must be Short it. Obviously that is wrong. You don't even have to have any other belief in the market, or of Short positions or of any others, because you don't believe in being Long it. Same also with atheists. You don't have to hold any different belief, because you don't have belief in God. You don't even have to have any other sort of belief in the market because you don't believe in being Long it. In my opinion , you might need to start getting a better overall understanding. A view outside the constraints of the blinkered existence which living in a religious box imposes on a person. stu
"In my opinion..." Something certainly not to be confused with fact. In any case, your position of the atheist being devoid of a position on God is nonsense, as evidenced by the fact of the resident atheists position on God.
