Regional banking ETF KRE +10%. Up 70% from July lows. Insane.
UCBH up 192% from late June low. UCBH is classified as a regional (but it's really not.) For more on UCBH see my UCBH thread in the Stocks forum.
It's reminiscent of tech stocks that rallied from $1 up to $3 back in 2003.
I'm short a hand full of small regional banks and they were all up like 30% today. Great!
30%? That's "only" 30 cents per share. You can take that kind of "heat"!
the diversified reginal etf are dangerous. charlie munger was all bullish on regional banks a while ago. they didnt do as shitty lending as the big banks
I thought the regional were some of the most affected by subprime mortgages and other problems .
some are toast, others are opportunities we wont see in decades
