    very droll!

hey, I too want to travel the world and trade remotely from my Gulfstream V, but alas, I am no Don Bright. So I just grind it our and try to stay amused.

I have no desire to get into religious discussions because no one hears what they don't want to.

I hope Dark was kidding...actually I know he was. But it is a scary concept that religious fanaticism really does lead to death and destruction. Sort of like the stock market now that I think about it:)

we have a lot in common. Apart from the yacht. :)

I was taught at school not to kid like that cause you'll frighten folks and probably give the wrong impression. That is serious stuff if he really believs it. I sure hope he doesn't but he should get the cane anyways for saying it.

ps just kidding about the yacht. I have 2 really. :)

GG, I could say the exact same thing about your thoughts, but I'm not going to go that route.

I will say that the world would be a much scarier place without religion. I shutter to think about the things I would have done in the past if I had not tried to live my life as a Christian the best I could. If I wasn't dead, I would be lying/stealing/cheating/etc everyone I could and who knows what else. The world is scary enough when I think about the number of people who don't believe in God and His Son Jesus and how they think they can live their lives like this if they want to.

Man-made laws (and the punishments received for breaking them) are great, but they cannot stop an unbeliever when their set my mind to something - in fact, I don't think any punishment on this earth is severe enough to stop an unbeliever from committing a crime when they really want to. I feel sorry for those that do not believe in hell and/or for those that think it is going to be one great big party. Our puny, little, earthly brains cannot imagine something like hell is going to be. Stop for a minute and think about the worst punishment a person could receive on earth and then magnify that by the largest number your mind can conceive and you will start to get some idea of how bad it could really be.

Guys, even the scientific community is coming around. 97% is a pretty high probability. And that is using the mathematical principles we currently have. In the future, as the mathematical field continues to improve, it will probably increase to 100% (which is where I'm currently at - eventually the scientific community will catch up). When the people who don't believe because they are waiting for scientific evidence/proof are told about this and they continue to refuse to believe, I have to think that there is another reason.

Like man-made laws, feigned ignorance and stubbornness are not defenses. One day, we will all stand before God and be held accountable.

  7. Long-way-to-go,

You most certainly have a VERY long way to go. Go and check out the historicity of your so called "savior".. produce for me one bit of credible evidence that such a person as jesus christ ever existed! THERE IS NONE!
so if the very basis for the entire concept of your religion is bs - then who cares about your hell, torture, eternal torment etc (which, needless to say, is a weird promise for an omnibenevelont god to make..)

  8. >>You most certainly have a VERY long way to go.

No doubt that I have along way to go before I become the Christian I really want to be. However, I think we are talking about two different things.

    >>produce for me one bit of credible
    >>evidence that such a person as
    >>Jesus Christ ever existed.

I've already done that in one form. See my previous posts in this thread. Now, you produce for me one bit of credible evidence he never existed.

  9. >>i'm standing right now so where is HE

In Heaven. However, you wouldn't be standing there if not for God.

    >>Have you forgotten ... NINE ELEVEN??!!!

Nope. But that was done by people of the Islam faith and not those that believe in God and His Son Jesus. However, the hijackers were not true Islam believers - they were extremists who believed what they wanted to believe. From what I've read of Islam, they expressly do not believe that Jesus was the Son of God but only a great prophet. However, I don't profess to know a lot about Islam, so I'll stop there.

“A man’s ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties and needs; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death." - Albert Einstein
