  1. my main gripe is with christianity, yes..i make no secret of that...

however i think the idea of a generic "god" is just as irrational (perhaps even more so), and am prepared to formally debate that also..

gordon, my friend, i am just being entertained...:)

i think all of you are are dancing around the real point however: there are believers and knowers and the gift to discern between...:)

  3. No problem, except you want to argue against the proposition that God MUST exist. True, you are willing to argue the complete opposite that God DOES NOT exist. But I am not interested in arguing either one. All I am ready to argue is that God COULD exist. And sure, God, omnipotent being and creator will all be synonymous. By the way, how can it be "more ridiculous" for someone to believe in (or not disbelieve in the possibility of) an omnipotent being than in a God of the bible that behaves and seems almost human like?

  5. Daniel,

I'll go out on a limb here and say that, "A creator MUST exist." Now, using "God" would imply too much -- so we'll just say that yeah, God / Creator are interchangable, but I'm not referring to Christianity or Judaism.

So, I debate with you that a creator must exist. Do you accept this debate?

  6. okay, i'll argue whether or not God COULD exist.. not my fave, but i'll settle..

as for how it can be more irrational? i'm sure i'll bring that up in my formal debate. :)

okay, i'll post an opening argument tomorrow on whether God COULD exist...i'f i'm to take the affirmative, i'll have to post it as "God Cannot Exist" ie, the there is no possibility that God coud exist.. okay? i'llpost it tomorrow

i really would prefer to keep this succinct and civil as possible...so please, if you wanna slam me, do it on this thread, if you wanna offer an intelligent and argumentative rebuttal of my arguments, do it on the debate thread..

EDIT - aphie wants me to do God MUST exist...look, MY argument handles both points of view....aphie, you show how me how god MUST exist as part of your rebuttal

  9. Just want to point out that attempting to argue
a "could exist" is meaningless without your opponent
starting with a VERY PRECISE definition of god.

Example: Could 5 headed, glowing, unicorns exist on mars?
    Answer: of course

Example: Is it possible that at one time a giant Elvis Presely
was floating in space and took a big shit and the universe
    came into existence?
    Answer: yup

    Is any of this likely?
    NO!!!!

Is there any evidence to support this?
    NO!!!!

    Could god exist?
    YES

Is it likely? Is there any reason to believe this true?
    NOPE, NOPE. Just as arbitrary.

Nothing here to debate really, unless someone starts
with a VERY PRECISE definition of god.

Then, such a being can rationally be discussed.

    peace

  10. it is SUCH a bad rule. how about we let america vote on that one and let us decide if we like it or not? that sh!t would be gone in an instant. it is flat out nothing but a barrier for the less capitalized. what country are we living in here?? we should be picketing outside of the sec. they deserve a black eye for this (literally and figuratively).

    good luck Mr_F
