  3. Exactly Rs7.

Now go tell all your religious friends to stop
trying to get the christian bible introduced
back into the PUBLIC school system and FORCING
their ONE belief system on all the OTHER religions,
atheists and agnostics in the U.S.A.

  4. Darkhorse addressed this before. According to him, this was an incorrect interpretation that was enforced as law for a long time.

    good point rs7

i have respect for christians (or members of any religion) that have a good understanding of their religion and dont just go to church on sunday to compare clothes. (and hear the story of jonah and the whale for the 137th time!)

There is a big difference between christians who have looked at the world as objectively as possible and made the leap of faith to belive in god and follow the teachings of jesus--- I belive that these christians are less likely to try to impose their morals on me as laws, or try and force religion on kids in public schools.

I am all for mutual respect and a country where you can belive what you want to and not be persecuted by whatever group happens to be in the majority at the time.

that does not mean i dont like to argue though:)

  6. That's exactly the point.

The bible can be interpreted any way you want,
    making it arbitrary and meaningless.

I'm sure people at that time would have listened
to Darkhorse instead of the church.
After all, he is the authority on the bible right? :D

He probably would have been executed for trying
to interpret it differently from the church in those days.
Those wonderful days, when religion was firmly
in power, known as the DARK AGES.

the church is infallable remeber I_Missed???

what would you tell someone who was denied last rites because he did something you do everyday???

you say the law was incorect---I say, who decied that? the law follows scripture very well, why is it incorrect??

I submit that since the jews were exempt from the law at the time, people in the church saw them getting rich and love of money changed the law, and now it is incorrect--or at least does not follow as well with the bible as the old law.

  10. Darkhorse was saying that the law was a misinterpretation. According to him, it does NOT faccurately follow scripture. Whether that is true or not, i don't know. But no one has actually addressed his assertion.
