  2. it can categorically be stated that no christian will ever allow the bible to be contradicted by reality, because the christian will simply re-interpret the bible in such a way that no contradiction exists.

  3. Of special interest is the testimony of SIR WILLIAM RAMSAY...
    a. Concerning his background:

    1) He was trained in the German historical school of the mid-nineteenth century

    2) He was taught that the book of Acts was a product of the mid-
    second century A.D.

    3) He was firmly convinced of this and started out his career in
    archaeology to prove it

    b. However, he was compelled to a complete reversal of his beliefs due to the overwhelming evidence uncovered in his research

    c. His conclusion:

"Luke is a historian of the first rank; not merely are his statements of fact trustworthy, he is possessed of the true historic sense...in short, this author should be placed along with the greatest of historians."

  4. well that's an interesting crackpot professor you've turned up for us. especially seeings as christian biblical scholars themselves believe (based on the evidence) that the gospels were written by multiple authors. "Luke" was not a single person.

  7. yeah, i agree with the atheists on the "young earth theory" . that is a bunch of crap. even the bible does not support the "young earth theory" sorry thunderbolt. HOWEVER, the atheists are wrong when they state that the koran has had more impact on the world than the bible. the entire rise of western man and and yes even science can be traced back to the biblical edicts of " dominating nature" and "ruling the earth". just compare mid eastern(koran influenced) industrial/scientific progress to western industrial/scientific progress (bible influenced). the west blows the middle east away. there is a strong biblical influence in western culture, whether the atheists admit it or not, and western culture dominates . correlation ??? it depends what you BELIEVE.

    best,

    madelyn murray ohare :D

  9. This is very true. However, I'm curious from whom they are deemed to be scholars!!

  10. I noticed this all along, but never bothered to say anything. Actually, they don't always "re-interpret" the bible. Sometimes (such as with Galileo and the earth being flat) the literate elites of the church simply threatened the person exposing the facts so that these elites could quietly alter the bible altogether.
