There is your problem. Your logical is perfectly backwards. Things dont need to be "dis-proven". They must be PROVEN and then defended to be rationally accepted as truth. Proving negatives is a waste of time. This is the reverse of burden of proof. You cant prove im NOT god. You cant prove my cat is NOT god. You cant prove I didnt create the universe. You cant prove that martians dont exist. Simply because you CANT disprove something does not make it real or give you an excuse to believe in it. In that case, all fairy tales which have NOT been proven false should be BELIEVED. That is simply silly. Rational belief requires evidence and proof. WOW!!! A couple of days of not tuning in to this nonsense, and there is so much, that it would be beyond my patience (or caring really), to catch up on this thread. My DSL is down for some reason I don't understand. Using dial up.....well that is enough to discourage anyone from connecting to the internet. So I missed all the valuable last hundred or so posts I feel like I should change my handle to DrFrankenstein, since I have obviously created a monster. I thought the thread would go 1 or 2 pages. I tried to just bust a little on Faster for laughs, but the fanatics took over the asylum, and now here we are about a million posts later. Funny thing is that I also started the now infamous "Superstition, Luck and Voodo" thread. Which, I guess by no small coincidence also quickly evolved from a lighthearted premise to a never ending debate on God and religion. Now I appreciate a good debate as much as the next guy. But this isn't a debate, this is an argument (by most of the regular posters in this thread) that will not and can not be won. Tdolt (® IMissedTheBoat, 2002) will always be a narrow minded intolerant freak, and Dan and Axeman and Faster and the rest will only get headaches from banging their heads against the brick wall that is the ThunderJesusFire&Brimstone guy. Then there is our little pal aphie, who has to post in every thread, because he is the most important non trading child registered on ET. And the knowledge he imparts to us is priceless. Or useless. Or something with the suffix of "less". Gordon Gekko (and his mom) will always delight us with his (and her) insightful observations. I can tease GG, but who is smarter than a guy that can express so much so succinctly? I mean "LOL"...how much more concise can one get? Yes, sometimes he gets a little wordy and gives us a "hehehehe", but that is when he puts on his Darkhorse Hat. But normally he is more of an E=MC2 kind of guy. And where is Darkhorse? I miss him. Never understood what he said, but he said it all so eloquently. Well I don't know why I am writing this. I was asleep, woke up, and couldn't fall back to sleep. He wasn't real specific about his whereabouts. He was using the satellite phone I had Santa deliver to him last year as a gift on my behalf. He sounded like he was shivering a bit. I bet he was someplace cold. I know he has used Superman's Fortress of Solitude on occasion. That would be my first guess as to His whereabouts. Why he goes there I can only guess....I think he likes to stay away from heat, since heat is more the domain of his nemesis. Anyway, God did tell me that if I really wanted salvation, I had to ask Tdolt (® IMissedTheBoat, 2002) what brand of religion I need to adhere to. I told HIM that I already asked more than once, and have not yet gotten an answer. So God then told me about how Tdolt ® works in mysterious ways. So there you have it. A very expensive phone conversation (I accepted the charges collect), and I still don't know how to avoid eternal damnation. I hope my personal social relationship with God may juice me into heaven, but I can't count on any favors. He tends to stick to the rules, and grants very little favoritism based on personal relationships and such. Some of you don't know, but God's last job was a Major League Umpire, so he has that kind of demeanor. He got screwed in that walkout a few years back, and had to take up a new profession. He told me it pays poorly. His middle and upper management guys do well, but being the top banana is sort of like, "hey, you got all the power, you don't need the money". But sadly, he calls me collect, because money does count, and power isn't everything. Now with this sleep deprivation, my drives are now expected to be more in the 90-95 yard range. Dan, that Aphie...what a card!!!!! Hope I am not fucking up by waiting to follow his trades in his forthcoming journal. Well, it has saved me some money so far by preventing me from trading my usual losing strategies. So the anticipation has payed off already. Forgot to mention in the previous post....when I was talking to God earlier today via satellite phone, Aphies name actually came up. He told me that He is sort of grooming the Aph Man as a possible successor to the late great JC. He said Aphie has it all. So keep that in mind. He also suggested that we all use the photo of Aphie as wallpaper on all our computers. Should Aphie indeed become The One, we will have a big jump on the new breed of infidels.
