1. What about Catholics, Southern Babtists and mormons? Obviously, Jews, Buddhists and Hindus are already counted out.

2. Guys, this is a trading forum. Let's get back to discussing trading ideas and related issues.
This thread is not a trading thread, and its funny how you quickly turn your back! If you no longer want to participate, then just don't. Simple!

3. True, but taking the other side of every argument can have dangerous repercussions (and I'm not just talking about religion here).

Actually, playing devil's advocate, even with one's self, helps us to develop and refine our critical thinking skills, as well as to consider thoroughly issues we are pondering. Not taking or considering the other sides to arguments is what leads to indoctrination and ignorance!!

Hopefully, I've cleared up what I can and won't be posting in this thread again. Again, if anyone has anymore questions, just visit or call your local First Baptist Church and they will answer you questions.
There's that "First baptist" stuff again. Wow, you aren't even very accepting of other denominations.

4. Guys.... there is nothing wrong with Darkhorse.
I have other friends like that...its very common.

Very bright, smart rational, etc, but the second you
start talking religion, a switch goes off in their head
and all logic and reason goes right out the window.

Its quite amazing to watch up close.

They debate perfectly, and wont give a millimeter without
you providing ample evidence for your position,
but require virtually NO evidence to believe in god.
god is a "special case" for some reason.
Reality is too scary to handle for some poeple, so they
invent god. Its simple....like trading when the light
bulb goes off :)

I think its genetic wiring or something.

7. Axeman, but in the past we've had religious discussions (such as in the one from March that was quoted in the beginning of this thread) where darkhorse WAS respectful, reasonable and rational! No he turned into what sounds like a hateful and dangerous man with a complex! Again I ask, what the hell happened? Did he forget to take his crazy pills?

8. Dark,

I think your a very bright guy, and I respect you, but....
Not everyone is bright in all areas, masters of all domains.

I have to disagree with your post below.
The trend is actually in the other direction.
At least among intellectuals/scientists.

Here are some stats for you.

The 1999, survey involved 517 members of the National Academy of Sciences. Our best and brightest in this country.

God Belief in 1999: 5%
God Belief in 1998: 7%
God Belief in 1933: 15%
God Belief in 1914: 27.7%

See a trend? Where do you think the 50EMA is? ha ha...

Interesting quote:

"Similarly, as intellectual historian Paul K. Conkin observes, "Today the higher the educational attainment, or the higher the scores earned on intelligence or achievement tests, the less likely are individuals to be Christians." "
