  1. Goldenarm, I can't believe you are actually encouraging the kind of behavior Dunderbolt is engaging in! You are basically using the tired old Pascal's wager which has absolutely been shot to pieces.

Guys, thanks for allowing me the honor of positng the 1000th reply in this thread! :)

  3. Stu, technically this doesn't prove that God (if there is a God) is not abundant in goodness. It might prove that the BIBLICAL God is not abundant in goodness, however.

  4. Wow, you have a very optimistic view of humanity. Wish I did! :)

  5. let me post that again..since i was rudely censored! :) (point taken babak)

it's not that we, or, in particular, I think you're "intolerant". You are just seemingly incapable of grasping the simplest logical arguments in the world. In fact, I can only imagine you ignore them because they rattle you.

Think about it,...what would it really cost you to suspend your unwaivering faith for just a moment, and REALLY CONSIDER what the other side is saying? what would it cost you? surely your god wouldn't forsake you just for such a minor digression? think about it..

  7. that probably explains why you cling to the hope that maybe, just maybe, there's a god out there that will make everything alright one day, right 'Boat?

  9. Several mistakes later, I am still asking myself....is this the guy who was correcting MY spelling error? ("you have a choose"-different word, different spelling, as Thunderstruck would say)

  10. The criticisms of Pascal's wager only apply if Thunderstruck is not a true believer (he most likely is), is wrong (who knows), and if he is not worshipping the perfect denomination of the true religion (if there is a correct religion). Who knows, maybe he is one of a handful of people on this entire earth who will go to heaven. Still, if this guy is going to heaven, I'd rather go to hell!!! At least there he won't be boring the, pardon the pun, hell out of me preaching for eternity!
