Guys, if you have any more questions, just walk into (or call) you local First Baptist church and ask away. They will be happy to answer all your questions. Later.
And this says it all. Your imaginary friend is better than their imaginary friend. Religion is not the problem. Intolerance is. You believe in Jesus, so you cannot accept Allah. They are on the other side. How can anyone be so sure the other is wrong? I haven't seen any proof first hand of any religious foundations. And yet I accept the fact that they exist for those that believe. Which is cool with me. No defense for 9/11. Fanatics exist in every religion. Was the Inquisition or the witch hunts or the crusades any more acceptable because they were done in the name of christianity? I have nothing against any particular religion. I just don't want to be forced to convert by ANYONE. If I wish to worship my rabbits foot keychain, I should be entitled to. And I am. It's in our constitution. RS7
Now thats funny.... let me get this straight. Your line of thought is... Complex things cant happen by accident, therefore there must be a creator. But your creator is REALLY complex. So who created your creator? (Your own logic) Ooooops now you have a problem. Precisely why evolution is a better explaination of our being. peace axeman
Dude, you obviously have no idea at all how to discuss an issue. YOU are the one who is asserting that jesus (the man) existed..and claim him him to be the son of your god. The onus is on YOU to provide evidence to support such a claim. Good luck though, cos like i've said, there isn't any. incredible isn't it? that the Romans, fanatics when it came to keeping accurate records of things, would make NOT ONE MENTION that there was such a person as this jesus - who was, afterall, no ordinary joe. but when we look behind the veil, we see that myths of mysterious godmen (who went by names like Dionysus, Osiris, Mithras, depending on what part of the ancient world you were from) who performed EXACTLY the same miracles that jesus did existed for AT LEAST 500 YEARS BEFORE jesus's time...the picture becomes a lot clearer.
>>Nope. But that was done by people of >>the Islam faith and not those that >>believe in God and His Son Jesus. I wasn't going to post again in this thread, but I believe the sentence you quoted has an error. Again, I don't know enough about Islam to speak intelligently, so I will try to limit what I say. Regarding that sentence, it's my understanding that they do believe in God, just not His Son Jesus. And again, if I understand what I've read of Islam correctly, Allah is the same God I worship. Sorry for the confusion. >>You believe in Jesus, so you cannot >>accept Allah. Hopefully I cleared this up in the above explanation. God (Allah) and Jesus are not the same. >>I just don't want to be forced >>to convert by ANYONE. God gave us free will, so you will not be forced to do anything. >>If I wish to worship my rabbits foot >>keychain, I should be entitled to. >>And I am. It's in our constitution. Those are man-made rules. Yes, you are entitled to because and only because God gave us free will. If God had made us like robots, you would not be able to. >>But then he would never get to >>say anything. Ever. True, but taking the other side of every argument can have dangerous repercussions (and I'm not just talking about religion here). Hopefully, I've cleared up what I can and won't be posting in this thread again. Again, if anyone has anymore questions, just visit or call your local First Baptist Church and they will answer you questions.
exactly. and you know what they always come back with, "oh..god has just always existed." to which i say, if it is reasonable to assume that your god - for whom we have NO evidence - always existed, isn't it MORE reasonable to assume that the materials of the universe - for which there is ample evidence - always existed? of course it is.
Gordon Gekko, I realize you don't want to get into religious discussions today, but I enjoyed reading your explanation of death, and one really can't argue with it, but think about this: You could open your mind even more by accepting the fact that your view and a religious person's view might both be true. It's like saying a $100 bill is only paper with a portrait on it. Someone might argue a $100 bill really is a portion of all the goods and services etc. etc. represented in the form of a picture on a piece of paper. Both views are essentially true, and yet there is no way to prove either.
Absolutely correct Please read "Mysteries - Was Jesus a Pagan God?" Forgot the names of the authors, excellent book on the subject. Bottom line, Jesus story is not original. P.S. Forgot to apologize to everybody but truth is truth
