  2. The problem with X-Trader is that although it is one of the best platforms out there, the brokerages that offer it usually make the user pay for 2 exchange fees when using it to trade Bonds and S&P's at the same time.

As a result, this can run you $650 per month for one exchange and $900 per month for access to two exchanges.

At REFCO, I trade both the ES and the ZB on REFCO Pro-Trader and only pay a .25 cents per side "platform" fee.

The exchange fee for the ES is $15.00 per month (CME) and ZB is $35.00 per month (CBOT).

  3. Transact Futures offers CBOT, Chgo Merc, Eurex and Eurex U.S. for the same $400 minimum commission /month. 4 exchanges for the price of 1. emini $3.42 r/t t-bond $1.86 rt all in

  4. waggie,

    I knew all these
-beside $650 fee is negotiable down to $500,and
some brokerage offering $500 form starting point
    at lowest volume like Velocityfutures.

-Secondly: As far as exchanges you can trade as
many exchange if you don't have position in them
simulteniously. So i don't think most guys trade more
than two exchanges at a time. As your volume increase
your cost for platform will be lowered as opposed
to $ amount charged per side on some platefroms.

So cost related issues will be solved if we can do
little more volume as if we are currently profitable

All i wanted to know is that whethere X-trader has more
speed, good excution , better connectivity and feed wise
    reliability than Refco pro?

Does also anyone ever had tehcnical issues with X-trade
    that was software related?

  6. The fact of the matter is that many traders DO in fact scalp the ES and ZB simultaneously. Especially when the "flight to quality" trade is occuring. Thus, the monthly platform fee for 2 exchanges is in fact an issue.

I have demo'd X-Trader and enjoyed using it.
I have also been trading (scalping primarily) via REFCO Pro-Trader for about a year now and very much enjoy using it. It is super reliable, doesn't miss ticks, and doesn't go down during fast markets like when an FOMC announcement is made, etc.

Tell me something, how many electronic futures contracts do you trade per month? Do you scalp at all, or do you mainly position trade?

  7. we have a proprietary trading group of 22 guys that trade (scalp) 100,000 contracts a day using this platform

  8. You are right. But i did mentioned More than two
market at a time not by most traders. Because it's too
hard if you need to scalp them.

Tell me something, how many electronic futures
contracts do you trade per month? Do you scalp at
all, or do you mainly position trade?

I have been trading ETFs (QQQ, SPY) and Nasdaq blue
chips like MSFT, DELL, INTC, CSCO,.. for a year and now
stop trading them because I have been paying very
high commision 6.75$ per 800 shares of QQQ= 1 NQ
contract per side (just comparing) or $0.85 per 100
shares of stock. So they were not suited for my style
of trading. Meantime could trade US market only, and
no flexibilty for my daily life time

Last 45 days i been doing my preparation and getting
fimiliar with future markets, products, ...

I am a scalper and based on my equity trading volume, i
should be doing at least 500 round turns for the begining
and i won't be trading more than two products at a time.
I will be trading NQ, mini euro, ER2, ZB, Euro Estoxx 50,
DAX .. which are of my interst

  9. REFCO is a premier firm.
They are the leading commodity house and have been so for several decades. They clear more E-mini contracts than any other Futures Commission Merchant.

P.S. I hate to sound like a salesman, but I was a former NY commodity floor trader back in the 80's and 90's and have some very good experience with REFCO. Rather than ask so many questions on ET, why not simply open an account with REFCO and see how it goes?

If you can't be happy with them, I don't think that you will ever be happy with anyone.

  10. currently i am in negotiation with other firms to use
their J-trader, but seems J-trader has some issues
revealed in the poll that i just put up yesterday.

I had broblems dealing with very big firms like refco (I don't
want to name them) they refused me because of my
citizenship or didn't offering service for my region.

Refco do have several branches all over the world, example
www.refcoasia.com but thier commision sturcture is more
geared toward those who need full service brokerage and
fees are much higher than refco in US. But they absoultly
    no broblem accepting me.

But till date i haven't checked with Refco in US yet. Before
going to them, i need to PM you for what kind of offer
i should be getting from them. Thanks for recommandation.
