recommend a FORUM for asking computer releated questions

Discussion in 'Hardware' started by herringtrader, Aug 17, 2006.

  1. Hi,

I'm not too good with computers and softwares. I always have some problems and a lot of questions. Can anyone recommend a good forum where I could post my computer related questions?

    Thanks,

    Check out his forums.

Leo Laporte is da man for tech and always enjoyed their forums. I guess it's TechTV's (RIP) geek gathering HQ. They know their stuff.

Not really advertising, because their stuff is free to download their podcasts, but I love their podcasts, I listen to them all the time, funniest guys. I still wish TechTV and The Screensavers were around.

This website can be trusted because there are so many viewing the questions and answers that misleading info is quickly commented on. and it's free... agpilot

  5. I have always used techguy and they will definitely help you out.

You can also try the forums at

    www.anandtech.com

but you may get flamed for newbieness there, at least more than you will at techguy. Having said that, there are some serious computer guys hanging out there.

And yes, there are guys around here that will help too.

(By the way... the anandtech bulletin boards have the coolest software - I mean the s/w that runs the board itself. Replying to posts is easy because the reply window comes up 'on top of and separate from' the thread, so you can easily review the whole thread while composing a reply. Obviously you can do the same here with a couple of open windows, but it takes more mouse clicks. Too bad we couldn't have that same system here).

  6. This thread couldn't have come at a better time. I need to figure out why Windows Media Player, I was attempting to watch a trading related video on the Nymex, made my screen go cattywampus. I am not sure if it's a Matrox driver conflict or just WMP? Anyway thanks for the websites.
