IB just distributed their new communique out today. Among other things it explains the 4:1 margin that def mentioned a while back. But of more importance the survey includes a slot for Canadian equities and derivatives.

I would like to request that you (even if you're not a Canadian) please put it among your choices so that IB can sucker punch the big 5 banks that have shut out so many traders in Canada.

Please think of those less fortunate trading brethren that are forced to pay $29 per ticket !

    Compare $37US round-trip to $2US round-trip!!!

Help bring IB to Canadian markets and even the playing field. Thank you.

I wanted to clarify just in case....

IB has arrived in Canada, but they only allow trading to US (and other exchanges IB routes to such as HK, Germany, etc.) but they still do not allow trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange or the Montreal SE.

    Thanks for your help!

Does IB offer Canadian stocks and options to other countries?

Or does IB offer Canadians the ability to trade U.S. stocks and options?

Is this new? I thuught it was hard to get a Canadian license for U.S. brokers?

    :)

First question, no (that's what my post was all about)
Second question, yes (since June 1st 2002 accepted Cdn clients)
