    I'm not sure that's true. We actually have a very detailed record of the temperatures and atmospheric composition over the last 1000 years from dendrochronology and ice core samples and a reasonable amount of data for up to 10000 years.

    The last 30 years have shown the biggest rise in temperatures for the last 1000 years.
