Discussion in 'Trading Software' started by listedguru, Aug 19, 2003.

  1. I was wondering how openbook is done on the realtick platform? Is is a seperate window than your market maker screen?

    Any info would be great,

It is a window on market maker screen, and is adequate. You need to subscribe to RealTick ProPlus (the $ 250 package), in order to get OpenBook.

It is updated every 10 seconds - not a RealTick limitation; a limitation imposed by NYSE feed.

You get billed separately ($54/month, including tax) by NYSE, for NYOB.

Overall, I'm satisfied. HOWEVER, the value of the limit book is being diminished, since fewer people post limit orders, since Specialists penny-up (they call it price improvement) quite frequently these days, and effectively are tampering with the laws of supply/demand. This is a NYSE issue - the most antiquated stock market in the world !

  4. The new rules change may bring real time depth back to the book.

  5. Which rule changes are you speaking of?
