RealTick acting up?

Discussion in 'Trading Software' started by Brandonf, Mar 17, 2003.

  1. It seems this thread repeats every few weeks now. RT has a lot of nifty features for stock traders, but it no longer has a clear lead over others in terms of stability and speed. Many of us are using it more because of the hassle of changing than because it is the best. Certainly I would not use it for futures only or options.

RT, you need to drop your prices and get a handle on these slowdowns.

It is scary to daytrade today with level 1 & 2 not in sync. I traded much less.

My broker said RT may be able to fix the problem tonight. I logged out & do paperwork instead. Probably better off this afternoon. Made enogh money with SIRI & USAI.

  5. I just moved my account from Cybertrader, who have a decent feed, but overall a platform that has FAILED to keep pace and is badly overpriced. They make excuses for every bug and basically refuse to enhance or correct anything. A news window with NO ALERT or KEYWORD search for example for over a year. Pitiful. Ever since Schwab bought them , software development has halted.

Using the new Tradestation 7 now, and am so far impressed. Can't say much about the trading side yet though. I use IB for most trading.

When I log on to RT, if things do not load real fast or if I detect any slowness in the charts loading when I enter a different symbol, I log off and keep logging on until I get a server that is working properly. A little inconvenience, but not too bad.

    one word: esignal.com

We've been using them for 4 years daily, only 3 days with any data glitches of any kind (and two of those were pre-2001). and that's with a data feed reaching me out here on a tropical island in the middle of the pacific ocean. easily best in class.
