not only are you a good writer, trade similarly to me, but you're funny like me(i just haven't shown that part of me here yet!) regarding the lifting; i know it's off topic, but when finding people with similar interests it is invigorating. lifters know how solitary it can be. regarding boxing, i tried it in college for two weeks. to me , it was harder than any other sport i ever tried. went back to studies and lifting.
A few years ago I joined a boxing gym and worked out 2 - 3 times a week regularly for about a year (it was not a gym to train golden gloves, just to work out but it was a real boxing gym not a Gold's Gym class). I got in amazing shape and dropped 15 pounds and it was an all over workout. It was an hour and half but the coach had a group of us going from one thing to next non-stop using a round timer of 3 minutes. Stretching, footwork, shadow boxing, sandbag, waterbag, in the ring with the mitts, rope jumping, sit ups, push ups medicine ball.... was so fun. Life kicked in and I stopped and I regret it and wish I could get back into it. No desire to get in a ring other than workout sparring but miss releasing all that agression. At 6' and 221 lbs I loved it. Now..... well lets just say I got some work to do and at least I am still 6'.
Arguably the smallest toolkit on this board wants to box. I'm surprised Darwin allowed his DNA to make it this far. I'll donate $25,000 to American Cancer Society if he agrees to fight me at this [or anywhere] fiasco of a boxing competition.
