That aligns with some of my thoughts... The crux of Cohen's testimony can be summarized in his own words as: I am ashamed because I know what Mr. Trump is: He is a racist. He is a conman. He is a cheat. Well - most of the country recognized all of the above when they voted Mr. Trump into office. The voters were content to accept the above when they cast their ballots. Most recognized how Mr. Trump did business -- in many ways he is just a new variant of politicians who have been conning everyone for years -- with a little less bluster normally. There seemed to be no new revelations in the testimony today that were unknown - yeah we already knew about the Stormy payments, we are already knew he was a shady businessman, we already knew Trump hired lawyers to intimidate people --- in essence Cohen's testimony provided nothing new. Liberals (and CNN with stupid articles like this) who think that the hearing today brought out any new information that will serve to take Trump down are sadly fooling themselves.
Just as most of today's confirmations were speculative, but known, it's been widely reported that Cohen was left out of most Russia "collusion" activities. Why? I do not know. I just know he's been sidelined and mostly on the surface concerning Russia. Also let it be known at this point in time you guys are OK with a guy who: Violated campaign finance laws, Directed Stone to dig up dirt using a foreign government (suspected but further confirmed today), Was heavily invested & conflicted w/a country accused of subverting our voting process and continuously lied about it. This isn't some game where criminals get a pass on crimes while or irrespective of committing another crime. Cons: Cohen's a convicted liar and should not be believed. Also cons: Cohen's telling the truth about not being in Prague.
I suppose you meant that most of the country recognized that Trump was a con man a racist and a cheat, and nearly a majority of voters voted for him anyway, which is true and also worrisome. We saw today that a majority of House Republicans are either still in the denial phase, or worse yet, they just don't care that the President is head of a thoroughly criminal organization. Fortunately this is the beginning of the end, and our national nightmare will be over in two years or less.
Actually, I found her exceptionally articulate and her questions well thought out. She completely avoided grandstanding. How refreshing!
So Cowen woke up one day after ten years of working for Trump and suddenly thought to himself: “You know, I now realize Trump is a racist, a conman, and a cheat”. More likely is either Cowen is either lying, perhaps as a result of duress/self interest or that Trump’s behaviour was acceptable while Cowen worked for him. Either way, such a statement has no legal effect. A statement like this is designed to have political effect. Why would Cowen, an experienced attorney make comments about Trump that has no legal effect? Was Cowen told to say this by an interested party? Does this interested party have ties to the Democratic Party and the long standing anti-Trump narrative by certain media outlets? Interestingly, as Cowen gave his testimony, it appeared Cowen was making a point of himself reading a prepared statement because Cowen looked down to his prepared statement, looked up again and said “Trump is a racist”, looked down at his prepared statement, looked up again and said “a conman”, looked down again at his statement, then up again and said “a cheat”. No one needs to refer to a prepared statement for something that is true or as simple a statement as that one was. Was Cowen trying to communicate something by this action? Was Cowen trying to convey what he was saying were not really his words, but that of another? That is, the words that were printed on the statement he was reading to Congress were not really his? The Mueller team and their connection to Democrats and perhaps other Trump political enemies needs to be investigated if we value our Democracy. There is evidence of witness tampering, improperly obtaining a search warrent, unauthorized leaks of information to the press during an active and ongoing investigation, unresolved conflicts of interests, and multiple instances of timing deals with political events, showing the political intent of the Russia Collusion Investigation. The depth of and width of this poltically motivated investigation is a crisis of Consitutional proportions in my opinion. We need to investigate the Mueller team for us to have any chance of draining our political swamp of long established miscreants.
