More like the former President and his appointees had an agenda to undermine the CDC.

Ok, thank you. Can you show me in which book, in which section the data clearly indicates that COVID deaths and contagion are worse in schools where the CDC guidelines have not been met?

Ah, so Trump again. Got it. Trump CDC - don't believe a word. Biden CDC - believe everything they say, don't ask for any proof!

When do you get your Little Red Book in the mail, GWB?

You know someone gave the union a tap on the shoulder...

Back To School: Chicago Teachers Union Approves Deal To Resume In-Person Classes

The Chicago Teachers Union has finally come to an arrangement with the nation's third-largest school district to resume in-person classes for students up to the eighth grade, ending a months-long impasse between public officials and teachers who are petrified of catching COVID-19.

The union vote - for which 13,681 out of roughly 25,000 members voted 'yes' and 6,585 voted 'no' - has diffused an impending lockout or strike after negotiations intensified in recent weeks - with teachers demanding a safer environment and more vaccinations, along with metrics to guide school closures if COVID-19 infections spike, according to the Associated Press.

"This plan is not what any of us deserve. Not us. Not our students. Not their families," read the email from Sharkey, adding. "The fact that CPS could not delay reopening a few short weeks to ramp up vaccinations and preparations in schools is a disgrace."

On Thursday, the first wave of students in pre-K and special education are expected to return to classrooms, while K-8 will return in the coming weeks for 'limited classroom instruction.' No plans have been made for high school students to return, whose learning will continue online.

Talks over resuming classroom instruction since going fully remote last March have been heated amid debates worldwide over reopening schools. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot had warned teachers that they would be locked out of district systems if they didn’t report for duty. The union countered by threatening to strike.

Chicago Public Schools officials have insisted it is safe to have classes in person with protocols in place, like wearing face coverings and a $100 million safety plan that includes thousands of classroom air filters. District officials and Lightfoot has said remote instruction is leaving many behind, particularly Black and Latino students who make up the majority of the roughly 340,000-student district. -Associated Press

Union officials still say the district's plan falls short in protecting teachers, while there isn't enough student interest in returning to justify fully staffing over 600 schools. Apparently the wishes of minor children factor in.

When special education and pre-K instruction briefly resumed in January, attendance was roughly 19% of those eligible.

Left turns are very dangerous. Lots of people die.
My cousin suffered long haul symptoms after getting hit making a legal left turn.
Ban all left turns until there is data showing they are safe.
You Covid fearful all agree? ... We could make wear helmets and make 3 right turns.

Where as No kids under the age of 19 have died in San Diego from Covid.
So lets open the schools and give them their lives back. at least here.
if your child is unhealthy (which may have been congenital so I am not judging)
Then lets have them attend a central online school.
If teachers are scared... so were / nurses and doctors and costco workers
    and many others.

If teachers have co morbidities... or are old ... then lets protect them but bring in other younger healthier teachers.

The health issues and impairments observed in this study were found to affect 68% of masked children who are forced to wear a face covering for an average of 4.5 hours per day. The study also includes 17,854 health complaints submitted by parents.

Some of the health issues found in the study include: increased headaches (53%), difficulty concentrating (50%), drowsiness or fatigue (37%), malaise (42%), and nearly a third of children experience more sleep issues than they had previously and a quarter of children developed new fears.

North Carolina is vaccinating teachers in two weeks.... wonder when Florida will start vaccinating their teachers.

NC teachers eligible for vaccinations in 2 weeks
    https://www.wral.com/coronavirus/nc-teachers-eligible-for-vaccinations-in-2-weeks/19519227/

With the push on to reopen schools across North Carolina, teachers are being given a higher priority to get vaccinated against coronavirus.

Gov. Roy Cooper said Wednesday that all K-12 school personnel and anyone who works in child care will be eligible for vaccinations on Feb. 24. All other frontline "essential" workers, such as police officers, firefighters and grocery workers, will have to wait until March 10 to start getting vaccinated.

Subdividing Group 3 in the state's vaccination priority list is necessary, the governor said, to balance the limited supply of vaccine with the large number of frontline workers in the state.

I think Florida is focused on their elderly first, given that's where all the risk really is and we have so many elderly. Must be why we are #1 in least amount of cases and #2 in least amount of deaths in nursing homes.
