I've been using RCG PATS for over a year now. The data feed is generally reliable, has down time occassionally. I'm not a scalper, so it's good enough for me. Onyx is quite similar to PATS.
Please keep us posted about Dorman T4.

Best way ,if you test t4 with real time quote from CTS,Dorman,Mirus and we can exchange opinion .

Author first impression (author is only discretionary
trader) it work, but need some time to understand all functions

From another future platforms good work OEC (PATS) ,but
J.Rücker offer only 4 $ R/T all included .not disscussed for
broker fees without CME and exchangge fees .Also .net
ONYX work ,but is only execution platform

Most advantage by T4 can be in he's "similar to TT datafeed" .If this have advantage in speed over ONYX ,than
offer 1$ per side for T4 against 0.75$ per side by ONYX
    is full correct.

Who from operator's ready to test T4 demo
and compare with ONYX demo ?

    Relevant comment would appreciated.

I now have access to three feeds: IB through the internet, TT with a T3 direct line to Goldman Sachs and they have a direct connection to the MERC, and Activ Financial feed through the internet.

What I have noticed so far is that, on FED day, the TT feed was crushing the other two feeds. ....
, as we are comparing a Feed that is running PTP essentially to the MERC floor, against two other feeds that are running over 15 hops over the internet. We may soon change Activ to a PTP, but until then, I can't give a scientific answer.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This Wednesday, the markets were about as erratic as I've seen them, flying all over the place. I had 5 MD-trader...and it was flawless, not missing a tick and never falling behind.

As a platform, X-trader may not have a lot of bells and whistles, but it is ROCK SOLID. I have been using X-trader for 2 or 3 years now. I currently trade between 1,000-2,000 contracts per month. And I have NEVER had a software based issue. Perhaps X-trader screws up, but I have never seen it happen. No questionable fills, strange crashes, nothing. For a 1-lot trader starting out, the transaction-based fees these firms are offering are, IMHO, a STEAL. (They're actually $0.05 cheaper than IB per rt, for a platform that is vastly superior. Edit: I guess with unbundled pricing, IB would come in $0.02 cheaper.)

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The pricing model may well be worth it if you do any kind of size, even after the montly fees to TT. IBs retail futures rates suck imo, and if you can get another software that is at least as stable, with a feed that is at least as good, and if you are a volume trader you get better rates, then I see where you are going with your argument that TT is at least as good if not better than IB etc.

But if someone is looking to learn how to trade e-minis, currency futures, bonds, DAX, or whatever, I can't imagine why he wouldn't opt for X-trader over IB.

As far as shelling out $500-$700 for the platform, remember this: At that price (I pay $700) I believe you are getting a commission rate that is far cheaper than IB. For instance, say I do 1,500 rt per month. At IB, I believe I would be paying $3.62. At my current firm, I'm paying $3.00. With 1,500 rt I'm actually saving myself about $150 / month after paying my platform fee. At 2,000 / month, I'd be saving about $500. At 5,000 / month, I'd be saving about $2,300! You get my point.

Put X-trader side by side with your favourite IB front end some time (especially when the markets are moving fast) and tell me if you see the difference.

I am not disagreeing with you. But you have to compare apples to apples. Most people are not very careful when comparing things. They see a package and say it is better than another package, when they don't even realize the many pieces that comprise that package. I bet you a million dollars you put IBs feed on a PTP line to the MERC, talk to their sales dept and tell them that you do 1000 RTs a day so that they are sending you every tick on the feed, and I am 99% certain that you won't find any differences between TT and IB insofar as speed of fills and speed of the data feed.

The reason is in the defaults. TT assumes you are professional trader and advertises it's rates based on what they know you will need. IB caters to the retail trader and advertises that and charges accordingly. But if you go behind the retail arm of IB and tell them you are a pro trader, commit to a PTP line, do 1000 RTs a day, there are no differences in experience except that one ladder is sideways and the other is up and down. You get what you pay for.

When we get Activ's feeds on a PTP line, we will see...

I am looking into this. The demo is not reliable. We have a lot of
problems with the demo. The simulated environment is much different
then the real version. The real system is much better in regards to
reliability. I will let you know as soon as I here something. Also if
the real version ever goes down I have many other system that I can get
    you out on.

    Advantage future ,who is epxerienced

    Hello,

Please see the attachment for the breakdown of your total round turn cost for all e-mini products. Based on your monthly trading volume the Advantage commission would be $0.85 per side.
