Minority vs Majority? in Democratic Countries? Here 70% is allowed to vote. About 50% of them does. In the parliament you need 51% to have Gouvernment. It is possible that in Parties 51% rules the other 49%. So lets see 70% x 50% x 51% x 51% gives 9.1%. We do not see it like that, but this small Minority is able to control the Majority. However, it gets worse. We have 150 people in the Parliament. Elected. We need 51% gives 76 for majority. In worst case 51% of these people control the 49%. So really 39 people are in control. Not so far away from the dictatorship.
Education generally teaches us to fit in, to work with others, trains us for roles, to know our place and to contribute to society, and be fair in our dealings with others. Thats one aspect of education, its purpose is to benefit society. Those who follow that route become worker drones. I've met some extreme people who fit into that category, they continue to work well past retirement age even though there is no financial reason to do so, simply because in their sad lives they have lived to work, rather than worked to live. They just don't know what to do with their time. There is another aspect of education though which not everyone will have benefited from, and that is being taught to think critically and not to blindly accept what is stated. In some types of work - I'm thinking research - there is training and an expectation for a person to think independently. That first type of education would be a hinderence to being a good trader because trading is essentially selfish for one's own benefit. There is no product involved and for a trader to make money, someone else has to loose money. A good trader probably has to have a strong sense of independence, not knocked out of them by early education, and a desire to make full use of their lives rather than be satisfied with a conventional form of working.
In kindergarten you are taught how to play.... Is it? Every child knows how to play. They start to learn them to listen to the teacher, and to sit still for 5 minutes. When they grow older they have to obey the teacher, otherwise for punishment in the corner. They expand the sitting from 5 min. to almost all day. They are taught the smarter you are.... the more rewarding. I know much extremely intelligent people who didnt like to be taught and sit stil. They find their own ways in life. Some are respected undertakers. Now for the "education" part. They are learned that "education" is good. They learn to listen to the educated. Worse: "educated" people get all the well overpaid jobs. I do not understand educated people are so much overpaid for something they do what they like. Of course time = money. They spent years studying. So give them some more, but do not exaggerate. The educated protect their environment by setting irrelevant studyprogrammes, where 90% of what is taught, will never be used by them. It is just a barrier for outsiders to get in their protected group. They change rules all the time, so our environment gets complicated and the average Joe needs them to interprete the rules or prison or punishment is waiting. Many people give up. Cant look for themselves, are never learned how to do so. by the educaters. Perhaps they had a smart Mom or Dad to warn them.
