I'm not bitter, little girl :) I think it's downright hilarious how uptight you get on all of this. You're even resorting to photo-shopped pics!

Fox News maybe "stupid" but it's the only one making money!

at anyrate, I don't judge a tv show by how many people watch it. And usually, the more that watch the less interest I have in it.

Maybe we should tax our machines (their owners) a bit more and give everyone a so-called "living wage". It should be a bit on the tight side, so that enough are motivated to work... at maintaining those machines. Kind of like how I feed our cats here on the farm. I feed them a bit light so they're motivated to hunt mice, and they damn sure do catch a lot of mice.

well then, you are out of the picture and the government is in. From now on, the government tells you how much you must feed your cats. If it's too much your cats won't hunt and you won't be able to afford them anymore.

and don't forget, now that money that use to go to cat food must now go to enforcing and policing cat owners.

Presumably, if the elderly were to simply tally their expenses and send them to government every month, as you were kind of suggesting, some kind of controls would also be necessary. It does not have to be black or white, all government or no government.

true, I am not anti government. The government does a good job of paying social security, and any day, we know how much it costs. Same with food stamps for the most part, once a client makes it past the means testing. It isn't based on how hungry you are that month. Medicare on the other hand is hopeless. Nobody could run it, especially not the government.

Government does a good job of paying for things, and a lousy job of trying to figure out how much things should cost. Our solution is just don't give government a job that they can not do.
