You sound like either a politician or a Fed official (is there a difference?) In any case someone whose livelyhood depends on winning people over, something I don't really care about on this forum ;) Your tendency to believe (or support) official numbers supports my suspicion.

Also, no, I do not think there is a conspiracy hiding hyperinflation, just a desperate struggle by the Fed officials to hide/disguise their incompetence at their jobs or anything to do with economy.

well make up your mind. Do you want the fed to raise rates or do you just want to do it my way? "If you wait long enough someone will make up your mind for you" (Janet appreciated my advice and sent me a nice thank you note.)

I don't know about you, but I'm about done loaning money to the US government. A few more of me and rates are going up whether she wants them to or not.

US can't afford much higher rates then today. The elephant in the room is the national debt. Half of it revolves on a 5 year maturity. They can't go past ~2% Fed Funds without exploding debt service costs...

Wrong move by the Fed. Their indecision implies that they don't have faith in the economy's ability to recover or that it has (admittedly, at a slow pace) been recovering. Investors would have easily been able to absorb a .25 basis point raise.

By the fed not raising rates by .25% tells you just how weak the real world economy is....we are talking a .25% increase..the fed will make up any excuse to keep rates at 0%.....

I know, crazy that anyone would believe the exhaustively documented inflation numbers that they can easily verify themselves, which also happen to match the numbers the the economists at GS, McKinsey, and a slew of other private sector companies. Must be a plant. I'm actually an entrepreneur working on my second successful software startup, although I did serve as a military officer, so I guess that makes me untrustworthy in your eyes? In reality though, it doesn't matter if I'm one of those government officials or so rich my butler buys my groceries, as another poster asserted, neither has anything to do with the validity of my arguments. Can you point to any flaws you've detected in these specific "official numbers" or my points, or do you just have a vague but all-encompassing mistrust of anything related to the gubmnt and that's your "logic"? Also curious why you'd post an argument if your goal wasn't to further your point of view, are you just ranting? Clearly there is a strong undercurrent of folks here who's default worldview is that everything is a conspiracy. We can all learn from smart, well-meaning disagreement, but there's no learning to be had from mindless rants.
