Bernie came close when? Hillary closed up the nomination faster than Obama and Biden cleared it in record time. The problem is with the democrats nomination process and rules allow for, as @TreeFrogTrader would say, a fly stay around your potato salad longer than it should. The republicans actually have a better process. As the primaries move on they move to winner take all while Dems continue to split delegates. Democrats are evaluating their nomination process currently. Moving away from NH and Iowa and punishing caucus states with later dates too.
African American turnout is as important to the democrat party as white male turnout is to the Republican Party. In high turnout elections suburban white women are the deciding demographic. I would love to see your data on “progressive turnout.”
People in general, black, white, red, yellow, green, blue are all wising up to this entire bullshit scenario, lol. Your two party system is bankrupt and so's the nation.
For democrats, black voter turnout is.If Hillary had gotten the same black voter turnout that Obama did in 2012 she would have won
Right. If AA turnout and WM turnout are both high, then WW tend to be the deciding demographic. If AA turnout is not high then the dem candidate is SOL.
I have big beef with our presidential form of democracy that creates a two party system. Totally agree that needs to change. But understand if we have a presidential system it is two party. No way around it.
Look up Bernie Bros, young voter turnout. Jill Stein/ Green party got around 450,000 votes in 2012,They got 1.5 million in 2012.Those were just progressives who went out to make a protest vote, others stayed home.
Since 1990 Dems have never lost a high black voter turn out election. They have also never lost when a black person was on the ticket. That will change with Kamala though as she sided with Biden on back the blue.
