I have decided not to oppose anyone ever again, since I have noticed that I always end by resembling my latest enemy. Emile M. Cioran A goal I've set. Simply state my case and discuss. I expect to fail often, but improve.
I think of a number, greater than 1 and less than 100. This is the number of Great British Pounds that I will invest in my next stock purchase. Then I think of a different number between 7 and 21; this is the number of days I will hold the stock for. Later, I think of a letter of the alphabet (but not Z obviously) and I inscribe this letter on the back of my right hand in deep black ink. And that gentle reader is the secret to my fabulous wealth.
I haven't been on ET for a long time now. I'm delighted to see it is still going. It seems like all these old online communities have been replaced by facebook or twitter. Last year I had a short story about a college professor that teaches stock speculation published in one of those indie zines called Typeslash Review. It's kind of a long one, if you have time check it out here: https://typeslashreview.wordpress.com/2021/12/08/trade-secrets-hugh-blanton/
BTW - I've had a couple of good years in the market, I caught that covid bottom pretty good and made enough money to quit my job. Now I'm just sitting here drinking myself to death.
Thank you ET, and Baron, for being here after all these years. When the wall came crumbling down, I came back to ET. You are my Red Solo Cup:
Wall St. Journal Reporter: "So Baron, what are you most proud of after all these years of running Elite Trader?" Baron: "Being a red Solo cup for my members." Wall St. Journal Reporter: "Wait. What?"
Pretty good voice if that's you... Here ya go, since you said you're drinking yourself to death lol. Toby has a ton of great songs, but none of them top this one imo, and this particular video of it live is as good as it gets. Great lyrics. Crank it up! Cheers! I had a hand me down ride painted rattle can red Second hand tires with poor boy tread Made a lot of almost love in the bed of that Truck that got stuck a lot Just letter jacket boys singing Jerry Jeff songs Drinking everything we could get our hands on Learning ‘bout right by doin’ it wrong Hopin’ we didn’t get caught And we spent what little bit of money we had On wintergreen Skoal and main street gas Go get your girl, go make the drag If you’re lucky you can take her cross the rail road tracks Where the man in the moon works his magic On the second runner up of the 4H pageant Seems like yesterday, even though ....That was fourteen hundred and fifty two beers ago
