GOD. DAMB. Totaled up my losses for the week. This was the worst week I've had in 8 years. It's definitely a beer and bourbon night tonight. Bought a brand new shot glass at the liquor store, too. Ironically, I'm still bullish on JC Penney even though I dumped every share I had last week. I'm willing to hold on through a drawdown up to a certain point, but in a margin account you just gotta let go. I can always get back in later, and with analysts giving sell recommendations and underperform recommendations, I will most likely get back in sooner rather than later. I just need the overall market to firm up a bit first.
I'm about to get some beer... Heineken.... waiting on the jalepeno poppers to finish before I hit the store. Thinking seriously of buying the new JFK gold half dollar MS70 from Apmex.
GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY! Do you know how expensive that is? I gotta tell you - I could never afford a six pack of Heineken! That gold Kennedy coin looks nice, too. If my old friend were still alive he would probably buy a few of them. I sure do miss the old guy, I watched him run $400K into almost a mil at the '08 bottom.
When my old friend started getting sick, I started searching for an assisted living apartment for him while he was in the hospital. I was getting things out of his apartment to get ready for the move and there were all these little scraps of paper on his coffee table and end table where he had been writing down prices and volume of stocks as he saw them go across the screen on the CNBC ticker on his television. He didn't have a computer or even an internet connection. At the end of 08 or beginning of 09 he came over to my apartment to ask my opinion on automobile stocks - he wanted to know which company I thought was the best of GM, Ford and Chrysler. I told him Chrysler was owned by another company and it was not available as a pure play, GM was near death, and Ford was probably the best of the three. Since we had always talked stocks, I knew the he did not have an account and didn't trade. Unbeknownst to me, he had opened up an account and bought Ford. A shitload of it. In two weeks he made over $50K on it. Of course I didn't know about it until he came over to my apartment with a check for $15k made out to me for giving him the "tip". It was the biggest score I had ever made in the market at that point in my life and I never even clicked a buy or sell button at my broker's web site.
yeah, the beer inflation is getting f&*king outrageous! ha! if the coin is still there tomorrow morning, I'll pick one up and post a pic when it arrives. cheers.
Switched to bourbon tonight. Ain;'t nothign worse than a working class schmuck trying to make a buck in the market. my fucking neighbors in this aparmemt complex maknig noise when i want to work and read. What the fuck am i supposed to do? how would stevie cohen handle this? I gotta do better somehow.
My old friend gave me a shitload of pre-1965 quaters and a stack of uncirculated presidential silver dollars. I should do somethign with ethn
he tried to teach me how to be a good peasant but I just didn't listen. but I'm doing better. I'm saving money and I don't use credit cards anymore. I'm doing a lot better thanks to him I wish he was here so Icould show him I"m doing the right thing.
