Thomas Donlan writes another sky-is-falling piece about Social Security in this week's Barron's. Barron's has been claiming the Social Security (the government provided pension system here in the USA) will fail ever since it first became law. It will always go to the brink, only to be pulled back by legislators who know their very lives depend on keeping Social Security solvent. The largest voting block in the USA are Social Security beneficiaries.
