He just needs to do more careful analysis. He doesn't understand the probabilities of when Road Runner is likely to surge or pull back.
What I am saying is that Wile E. Coyote should view Road Runner's movements as random and that he should base his attempts on probabilities, based on past observation. You see, it's impossible for Wile E. to know every twist and turn that Road Runner is going to make. Therefore, Wile E. Coyote hasn't taken the time to do proper analysis on Road Runner's movements. Wile E. is just in too much of a hurry to do what it takes to take care of himself.
Absolutely. Or perhaps instead of blowing his coin at the Acme Corporation, he should just hire some mercenaries or Navy SEALs to do the job instead.
So you are saying that instead of frenetically trying everything between heaven and earth to get Road Runner, he should rather take a step back and try to look for patterns in Road Runner's behavior? And if he finds such patterns, then Wile E. Coyote would be better off waiting for scenarios where he has a high probability for success, in order to direct his efforts more wisely?
You're catching on nicely, Lornzie! You seem to understand the signals. Apparently, you been chasing road runners quite a while yourself. I can see that you know how to catch 'em. Indeed, it does seem like, after all these years, Wile E. would slow down and look for some type of pattern or signal of some sort that would give him a greater chance for success. I guess he just feels like he can do it on his own and he refuses any help or support. When old Road Runner gives him resistance, he has no idea what to do with it. Actually, Wile E. called me yesterday. Said he was in the forest. I asked him if it was beautiful. He said he didn't know. I said, what do you mean; you don't know? He said he couldn't see the forest for all the trees. I didn't call him stupid or anything, but I said, Wile E., it's right there in front of you! Hmmm...I had thought coyotes were smarter than this. Beep, beep.
I almost wish this could be a few years ago, and I wasn't catching road runners on a regular basis. Almost. Hopefully some other coyotes picks up a few tips... It seems that the most difficult thing about catching road runners, is making it as simple as it really is. In fact, it seems impossible to a large number of coyotes. With all that said, it seems you have been in the road runner-catching business longer than I have, and I welcome further words of wisdom....
Naw...You don't need any tips I could offer, but there's a LOT of coyotes on this site who don't know about catching a road runner. Unfortunately, they aren't smart enough to read the "Random" thread. They hang out in places like the "Trading" forum because that's where their "gurus" post things that they like to hear. They're not willing to dig here on ET and find the "meat" that's hidden here on this very website. You gotta work to catch the road runner....hmm....tasty! They are always willing to sign in and slam ET, but never willing to hear the truth. Simple you say? I couldn't agree more. But the young pups don't believe it. They seek the "mystics" who show up here all year long. These "mystics" pretend to know what they don't know. But, this is what a young pup likes to hear. It feels good to them for a while. A young pup likes to be cuddled. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey, didn't you say you are in Norway? You do know that the bulls and the bears are here in the USA in Chicago, didn't you? But, it doesn't really mattter. You can live anywhere and be a bull or a bear. You can even be a bull and a bear all in the same day. And catch road runners while you're flipping the script. Jerseys are available everywhere these days.
Indeed! The "search" function is not nearly used enough by most. When I first came across this site (a few years before I registered), I started to view some of the forums in "ascending order" from "the beginning"; there is a wealth of information buried in the strangest places. I can only speculate in how many valuable gems got lost when Baron switched servers about a decade ago. I view ET as a good primer to trading; if one can filter out the noise on this board, one should be able to do the same with regard to the markets. I am indeed in Norway, but I found Norwegian road runners to be too "thin", so my focus has been on the runners in "Chi-town". I am familiar with the bears & the bulls. I even visited their arena a couple of years ago, which was quite an experience. However, it seems that most are only present electronically these days. I consider myself a free agent oscillating between the two teams, usually getting a hefty sign-on bonus for each transfer. Some have called me disloyal, but I find it best to (try to) be on the winning team. My problem is not really navigating the treacherous waters, more that I do not know of any other successful players in my "neighborhood". That is the drawback of living in a small country a stone's throw from the North Pole. You see, the polar bears here do not care about the bears in Chicago.... "Iceolation" takes on a whole new meaning in this part of the world. Are there any other animals I should know about? Aside from the gyrating snake, that is?
