RAID 0/1 HDD Failure

  1. Guys, I would appreciate any help I can get. There is a thread here about Seagate 1TB HDD failures - It looks like I've fallen victim of a HDD failure. Tonight when I turned on my PC it said one of the HDD's has decayed (or something to that effect) but was still bootable. There is a noise coming from the box like the HDD is having issues.

Can I simply go to Micro Center and buy a new HDD (excact replacement) and plug it in or do I need to do anything within the RAID system? Wondering how to replace the HDD - This is SATA #3 so the mirror or spare drive (thankfully)

This is RAID 0/1, on a Dell Optiplex 755 workstation with two Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD's. Running XP Pro if it matters. There is an onboard RAID controller built into the BIOS/motherboard.

    Thanks for any help/replies!
