Racism can't halt Indian takeovers

  1. I am American and a Libertarian who does not believe the role of any government is too coddle members of society who are living off new deal economics. The only good thing about the new deal was the creation of the SEC. The New Deal represented a significant shift in political policy in the U.S., with its more lasting changes being increased government control over the economy and money supply, intervention to control prices and agricultural production, the beginning of the federal welfare state, and the promotion of trade union organizations. I was not saying that the caste system was desirable; just trying to make a point that was taken the wrong way. We do have a societal caste system here, it has to do with money- which equates to education and opportunity.

Speaking of Racist comments. You have made one yourself. You sound just like the self hating white people.

1)The idea that 'brown' people turned white in Europe is a joke. There is no science to back it up. Other than what crazy Anti-Racist trump up. The science the Anti-Racists push is far more dishonest than the garbage trumped up by the Stormfront White Nationalists.

2)Europeans were no more brutal than anyone else. Maybe even less so. At least there are Indians left in America. If the Muslims would have colonized America------there would be no such thing as a Hopi and no reservations for casino gambling. Don't believe me ---read a history of Pakistan.

  3. LOL, thanks, just stating how I see it and experience it. I have good insight on how Indian offshoring is done, as I had to supervise it. I find it laughable that people start praising India to be this superpower considering that most of this IT offshoring is nothing more than embezzlement & fraud.

Any nation that truly wants to be an economic force will build its economy from within and avoid being reliant on offshoring. Otherwise, it will be nothing more than a puppet of the multinational corps.

  4. Speaking as an Indian, I think India holds tremendous POTENTIAL. You have 20 million nris, who are pumping money left right and center to the economy.

All what is happening, is a realignment to the 2 superpowers of the prior centuries, China and India. I honestly believe India will be a first world country, in some respects it is,, with their generosity and honesty with the common man.

    God Bless India.

Is India reliant on offshoring or is the US? I'd say a bit of both.

India isn't a superpower because of offshoring, it got there on its own, developed its own nuclear arsenal, and happens to export professional services vs LCD tv's, microchips and supertankers (Korea)

offshoring in the name of cost-containment whether it be to India or the Philippines is exactly what you pay for. Lets not make this an Indian thing.

People target India because they do the crappy call-center crap and IT BPO offshoring but they are a force to be reckoned with. They are moving up the value chain quickly and they have a leg up on their chinese counterparts, but China is not far behind, and the Indians may have to outsource to the chinese.

Having studied with doctoral candidates and Phd's from IIT in engineering school, they have as much talent if not more (by numbers) than we do. Thats reality, top students from all over the world come to our universities to take that knowledge bak to their countries.

It all adds up to a successful growth story.

Its a stupid argument to discount them based on their social misalignment, poverty and corruption. The US has already been there, India will eventually equilibrate and improve as market forces take hold.

I think ggoyal is right in one respect that this thread has turned into a brawl, and likely is not relevant to trading any more, but he sure was militant against those who stood up to "protect" their nation. I wonder why.

  7. Although I agree that europeans as a whole were no more brutal than others and during the age of empires perhaps less so (but there was an interestingly wide disparity based perhaps on national characteristics) ... I doubt your assertion that there is no science behind our becoming whiter.

The cradle for homosaps was definitely not europe. The hs's who went north would have been sun adapted and the lack of sun in those cloudy european forest regions would have selected for efficient use of the sun to generate vitamins --- ie. we selected for whiter and whiter skin.

Not sure whether southern italians are darker because of the sun or because (as I recall someone telling a Sicilian in a film (just before the Sicilian killed him) that the Sicilian was darker because he was part African.

Oh the joy of skin colour (I could use a bit more melanin here in Queensland)!

I note in passing for Rearden Metal that he perhaps has missed some of the aggressive speeches about Pakistan generated by Indian polis (G Bush is a gentle rational pacifist dove by comparision). As has been said by others here, India is an enormously diverse subcontinent and its a mistake to think that its full of Ghandi like pacifists.

Sicily has been conquered by Arabs in the 6th century, and they kept it for about 400 years. There are still many traces of their influence, especially in architecture, cuisine, and of course skin color.
