For the most part, I don't mind dealing with the problems created by certain members. But on days like this past Monday morning, I woke up to discover doxxing attempts, juvenile jabs, felony accusations, and direct personal insults between two members over multiple threads. Then I look at my phone and I've got threatening texts and voicemails demanding I immediately take action related to the above. I then check my computer only to discover many reported posts regarding the same two members containing nothing but a bunch of garbage that's now MY BURDEN TO CLEAN UP. That's not fun to me.
These guys don't even have the self-discipline to hit an ignore button. So to think they have the ability to put themselves in time-out is totally unrealistic.
Yes, it’s clear, no self-discipline when addiction is involved. A trading site naturally attracts a fair share of gamblers and, frankly, some really dumb people. Take me, for example, I have a bit of adult ADHD, which, in many ways, is encompassed by autism. On a few occasions, I’ve stayed away from posting for months just with discipline, but there have been a couple of regrettable times where I got upset and acted out. The last time, I blame on long COVID making my braincell ache.. I did wonder if Mr Stark was similar, probably not but you know from health and fitness how a new self-discovery goes. The truth is, I’ve felt too embarrassed to bother you with a request to suspend my account. ADHD gives me an overwhelming sense of moral injury at times, it’s like my circuits start smoking. I’m just saying that a self-suspension feature would let people take control of themselves before things spiral destructively and cause unnecessary trouble for others. Take today, for example. I’m on my first multi-stop solo flight, something that should be fully occupying my mind. Yet, here I am, waiting for fuel and typing on my phone. Embarrassed to be me, TBQH.
Enjoy that solo time, I am making the assumption you are working toward a private pilot license, or all ready licensed. Private, Commercial, single and multi here, and haven't flown in 30 years. I am somewhat jealous, and at the same time thrilled to hear about people who are out flying. Good luck if you are working on your ratings!
I had a similar experience, allowing strangers and their vehicles on my land when I first bought it. Everyone was cool until two alphas showed up and started showing off, trying to get attention, pushing the envelope and acting like they owned the place. Then they discovered who the real alpha was, when the entrance was blocked! It's all fun and games until threats are getting made.
Thanks, I made three of four legs, stopped for the night. Yes, I have a private licence now. I bought a new gyroplane having flown single engine fixed wing 25-30 years ago. It just has a much better safety profile for Colombia and Panama and has belt driven vertical takeoff, though that needs improvement to be used regularly. The way drones are coming on, I won't be alone in the sky for long so enjoying it.
I am sincerely sorry for making light of what had unbeknownst to me escalated so far. Your job certainly wouldn't be an easy one. Apologies again.
From what youve shared of yourself and your journey, recently,Id say what you have is actually 10% obstacle and 90% superpower. One of the most interesting people Ive encountered on here TBQH.
