I just loaded QT v3.98 on a new computer. I applied the fix (shows 3.98a now) and configured for I.B. data and trading. I rebooted and logged into my I.B. sim account. "Enable ActiveX and Socket Clients" and "Download Open Orders on Connection" are checked. I get TWS's "Accept Incoming..." popup message and click "ok". Trouble is, if I try to transmit an order from QT to TWS or attempt to open QT's account info panel, neither will work and I get TDAmeritrade's Registration popups. I've attached a screenshot. I can perform these same tasks fine on my old computer on which I run QT v3.98a. Trade orders transmit and sim account info shows in QT. I'm not running the two QTs at the same time. The old computer is Win 7 Ultimate 32-bit. The new one is Win 7 Pro 64-bit. Jerry or anyone know what I'm missing? I'm hoping I forgot something obvious.
The easiest thing to do is transfer QT from old computer to new - the entire directory. that way all needed files are there both for QT update and your configuration. As for configuring your stuff - if you are getting TDA Popups (there were no attachments so I am guessing which ones here), you most likely only updated the EXE file, but not the other support files. Make sure you extract all files out of the patch zip. Also, you may want to specify 127.0.0.1 as a trusted IP so that you don't get the popups from TWS.
Does anybody have the code for this? I'd like to have a paintbar save the entry price of a trade so that I can calculate my exit based on the entry price. For example, after my paintbars enters a trade, I'd like another paintbar to exit that trade after it has moved 3 standard deviations in my direction. I can't figure out how to get my exit paintbar to reference the entry price so I can add the 3 sigmas to it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Got it working! I did attach a screenshot to my first post, but, as per an email from ET support, my permissions are enabled gradually so maybe the screenshot appears eventually (?) Thanks JackR for your suggestion. And thanks to Jerry for Quotetracker and for his unmatched user support...excellent!
What a shame the QT message boards don't work any more even just read-only, and even the QT users forum is gone. They were huge repositories of knowledge priceless (IMO) to any QT user. I don't suppose anyone knows where to find any remnant of them....?
