Jerry - I'm a long time QT user pre-dating TD's involvement, and you have personally helped me out numerous times with technical issues. I'm running QT version 3.9.8. It is streaming and functioning in every way except for the ability to execute trades thru QT for my MB Trading accounts. I can trade though Navigator, but I am still left with the issue that I cannot have both QT and Navigator open at the same time. How can I resolve this (have both open simultaneously) since I'm technically not "logged in" to MB through QT anymore - Or am I - even though I can't execute trades? thank you
if QT is impacting your ability to connect with Navigator, then that means that you still have QT use MB for some data. You can see the connection indicators on the status bar - move the mouse over them to see which one is using MB Trading. You can have both QT and Nav running if they login to different accounts. So what you can do is add a 2nd account, link it to the first, then login to one in Nav and the other in QT. Both can still access both accounts, so you can trade the same account in both Nav and QT and use MB for the quotes in QT.
Jerry - thank you for your prompt response - I am using MB for streaming quotes on QT so I'm evidently automatically logging in when I open QT - I assume that is my only option since I have no other accounts elsewhere. In the past you instructed me to use seperate passwords - one for QT and one for Nav, but subsequent to that there was a change to prevent having both open simultaneously. I have 3 separate accounts but they are all linked on both MB & QT so I'm a bit confused on how best to proceed thanks again for your help
Jerry - check that - in the past instance you had me create 2 different "user names" w/ MB & QT - since I now don't actually log in to access my accounts on QT - I am now able to have both open at the same time so I can monitor QT info & trade through Navigator simultaneously thanks for jogging my memory to resolve this - appreciate your help as always
Jerry: My quote source is MB Trading which has always worked fine, even since the switch requiring 2 users names. I have been fooling around trying to get it to work on another computer. Today I loaded the program to the other computer via a USB flash drive. Everything transferred over just fine, including all of the existing data and charts. However, it will not connect to the MBT source. For the past 10 years when I launch QT, it automatically loads up. Now, nothing happens. I get a yellow box in the upper left corner, and the sliding thing is blue. I hit stop, then start, but nothing. Everything seems identical to my usual computer, which works fine. So? I am using 3.9.8a
Whoops. Just was reading the instructions for MBT on the QT website. And NO, I have not. (High99 walks away with his head held low, feeling like bad). OK, my bad.
