    Jerry,
I have been playing with various ideas to try and fix the bug and I finally deleted the OptionXpress userid/password from the News sources screen. That solved the issue and I am not getting any pop-ups anymore.

Thanks for your help Jerry. Truly a wonderful product.

  2. X5, the cause of this is either server side, in which case you can't do anything except switch server or data source, or running multiple datafeeds at the same time for the same symbol. There really isn't any other option

    Jerry,

is it possible to get Level I quotes from two different data sources IF the status bar only shows L1 quotes coming from one source, in this case the TDA Streamer? (I just want to be 100% sure I'm NOT getting two different Level I quotes from two sources...) On my screen, there's only one little green circle, and when you hover over it it only shows the TDA Streamer.

also, out of curiosity, do you get the TDA feed (TDA Streamer) on your quotetracker?

EDIT: Also ... it appears quotetracker puts in a negative volume amount equal to the cumulative volume for the day after each day in order to reset the volume amounts (and then a corresponding negative volume approximately equal to the positive volume such that their sum equals the true volume amount that had actually traded at that time point) ... furthermore, the large volume spikes I incur almost always have values equal to the cumulative volume for the current day ... that is, as the day progresses the volume spikes tend to get larger and larger depending on how much total volume had been traded during the day... (however, once I clear the chart data and re-backfill over the data all the bad volume spikes vanish ... but they soon return as streaming quotes come in). I wonder if these might be related in some way?

    Jerry,
QT no longer fetches quotes for shares listed on NSE (India). It only updates the index on the portfolio. Can you help me out. Sent an email to the support team. No response as of now. The problem started in the first week of Aug. At around 11:15 AM (IST), the quotes stopped updating (only index - nifty updates). Seems some changes in NSE file server. I am using QT for more than two years as of now. Finding it difficult to trade without any alerts. Looking forward to your help.

  5. gkintl, NSE probably changed their site layout QT setup files for NSE need to be updated. I highly doubt TDA would be updating them. sorry

Hello Jerry, I thank you for the prompt reply. I will try to look for an alternative. QT was extremely useful for me in making money on a daily basis. It is disappointing to note that such a wonderful product was forced out of market.

Wasn't forced. The original designer sold it to TDA, who maintained it for a number of years. The past year or so, TDA has elected to semi-mothball it, or whatever they are doing. Beginning in September, it will only be available for TDA customers, however they will still not be updating or maintaining it other than to keep it running in its current state.

(However if you have downloaded and installed the "patch", it will continue to operate for everybody. I hope.)

Just so I have this straight. When running the patched version 3.9.8.A, the QT program would then be a totally freestanding piece of software on my computer, not subject to the old registration servers or TDA meddling? I noticed that once the patch is installed, the "ads" are totally gone. Do I have this right?
