The Level II window for TDA gets the same Level I quote as the portfolio, so that really can't be the issue. Don't know why you would be getting the problem. Sorry
Okay, I need some help here. I got an email from TD ameritrade that because I'm not a member, quote tracker will end by Sept. 4. But TD ameritrade is for USA, I'm not in USA, so this is stupid. I just need a software to plot 5 days chart, as well as historical chart. What can I do? I can't be the only 1 who have this problem Is there any way for me to use quote tracker after Sept. 4? If not, what do you guys use for substitute?
Happy Hopping, If you are using the patched version, you will not be impacted by anything TDA does on Sept. 4.
Gee Whiz, Happy. Go back and read some of the 134 pages of this thread. Everything is spelled out for you. No reason to push the panic button.
Ok no worries, if you think of anything else as to why the bid/ask is behaving like this please let me know! Also, does anyone know if the TDA Streamer news works for Quotetracker? I have subscribed to streaming news on their website and have enabled the streaming news on QT but I am not getting any news from it... it appears only the yahoo source is working.
X5, the TDA streaming news does work in QT assuming your TDA account is properly signed up for it. I use it here.
Jerry, can you tell me what the "Source" column says for news coming from TDA? The only news articles that aren't from the source "Yahoo" on my news window are from "DJN" and "BW", and news from those sources don't come very often... EDIT: Haha oh dear... I just clicked on one of the BW articles and up popped up the TD Ameritrade logo for the news. I guess the streamer has been working, I was just expecting more news articles from the streamer than what I have been getting (there's at least 6 times more news articles from yahoo than TDA). Sorry about the confusion.
i have been doing a little research into the bid/ask problem and I believe I have narrowed down the problem to the backfill patch... What I did was created a fresh Quotetracker in another directory and opened up similar windows with the same data sources as I have open in the QT i currently use with the problem. Before the patch, the bid/ask data never changes to match each other, no matter how many symbols I click on with the red push pin. In addition, the bid/ask raw data, while there is not a lot of data, is always correct. Once I install the patch with all its files, however, I noticed the raw data time and sales window becomes messed up with regards to the bid/ask/last data. I also noticed that if the last trade in the raw data window had the same bid/ask data in it, then after the window had finished backfilling for the current symbol the bid/ask data on the portfolio window would change to match these incorrect values. So I think what is happening is quotetracker is fetching data from the last trade from the raw data time and sales window and replacing the original bid/ask data in the portfolio window, causing the error I'm having. Now this error isn't isolated to just the penny stocks that I am using... it appears the same happens even in bigger cap companies like Costco (Ticker: COST)... so it's not a matter of the stocks being too thinly traded. Hopefully this gives light on the problem a bit more... does you Raw Data Time and Sales window work for you Jerry (if you are using the patch and TDA data sources?)
Oh, I think I misunderstood. I know what you are referring to. True bid/ask data in the Raw Data window is only relevant with data collected from the Level I quotes. If you backfill, ignore the bid/ask data.
This morning (Aug 8) none of my intraday charts have data from 10:40 AM Tuesday, Aug.7, until the close. I have tried 2 data sources (TDA and MBT) on 2 computers, no difference. Deleting the sdata.dmp has no effect. I'm using 3.9.8a with all the relevant patches. Any help appreciated.
