One has to wonder what a backfill problem has to do with a thread entitled "QuoteTracker To Be Finished End of 2011."
Still running 3 sep instances of QT along with 2 ToS platforms. Latter for CNBC and chat rooms. Use TDA for data feed both Streamer & Real Time. ETrade as third feed backup in case others go down. Signed the petition of course and mention QT any chance I get - inside of any TDA communications and to outside world. glta
I can't get QT to work with Etrade and the Ameritrade streaming quotes are flaky most of the time. I mainly use static Ameritrade quotes right now. Are there any hints or patches in getting Etrade to work for streaming?
Well not sure for your end. Me, the ET streamer still works for indexes and most stocks For minor grey market ones they just show zero if no activity for day. But all the rest display and news too. TDA streamer & real time (on 30 secs delay) work ok. There was a short period of days a few weeks back when ET wasn't sending data a lot or failing to start. Even breaking during day but that cleared up. I run it last after the 2 with TDA. I have checked both those boxes of use system time & price from close. This with Win 7 x64 Ultimate cable feed.
mmoy, E*Trade - it works fine here without having to do anything special, as long as you don't have any prompt on login when done via web site.. If they show a prompt, such as suspicious activity notice, QT login will fail. TDA - "Flaky" is a bit vague. they seem to work here.
Jerry, the story of the back fill i think it depend from the data provider or it is the connetion. Now let me ask u this: is there a way to let the custom audio alert setted as default? i mean everytime i use it i have to set it and look for the sound-- THX David
@david63 On the Alerts screen, you can click on ALERT DEFAULTS tab and set the default audio alert. NOTE: QT lets you set separate defaults for each alert type, so first select the alert type, then set the audio default. Repeat for each alert type that you use.
Sometimes Ameritrade streaming works for me and sometimes it doesn't. It seems to work when I setup a connection before the market opens and leave the connection on. I haven't been able to get Etrade to work for a few years though I don't log into Etrade very often. I just have a token account there as a QuoteTracker source. I will try to log in tomorrow to see if there's any problem with my account or if there's something that I have to do. I have QT working with Ameritrade right now and don't want to play around with Etrade as a source. I'm also running through a proxy and firewall which might have something to do with it.
