I'm here to be as vocal as any unfettered female needs to be to help save Quote Tracker and hopefully keep learning as I go. :)

QT is a stand alone program which gets its feed from whatever source you prefer from their list. I have utilized the patch, so my QT program is completely independent from TDA. The "ads" are now gone completely. My data source is my broker which is MB Trading. If your data source no longer works with QT, IQ Feed works with QT as they have taken it upon themselves to create their own patch so IQ and QT work together. You can still use TDA as your broker for trades, but use IQ to run your charts.

  4. I dont know if he knows what he is talking about but I spoke with a guy in Ameritrade tech support yesterday about QT and he told me after all is said and done and ameritrade has nothing to do with QT anymore that if you have a data feed other than TD that QT would still work. I use DTN IQ as my feed so I am hoping I will be able to continue trading with QT for a long time to come.

There is a post back about 20 pages ago from the IQ feed rep. Says they will continue to support QT. So if they are willing to tweak it to keep things running, that is great. You will no longer have to rely on TDA for anything.

Plus, I would not be surprise if Jerry Medved has something up his sleeve. Otherwise why would he be lurking around this thread and giving advise and staying in touch? Once TDA gives QT the boot for good, something might happen. We shall see.

That'd actually be great, High, but I'm gonna hazard a guess that Jerry's contract is way longer than you might think.

  7. bsam. IB's java charts just plain suck. no two ways about it. if qt's a stand alone product and continues to work then why change, and what do you care. i may change order entry platforms several times in my career, but i don't want to learn a new chart program and i don't want to settle for a second, and i mean second rate chart program like IB's, even though i clear through IB myself. been my experience that guys that make accusations like you just,....really can't trade themselves.

When I look at a stock from a scan, not one in my watch portfolio and even then, I keep numerous watch portfolios..
I want to check the 7 min, multi day chart, the 6 month and the 2 year and I want to see what news may be out and I have indicators set on all of these views and I want to see level 2 and I sometimes check time and sales and I want to see what the message boards are saying and I want to look at what news is out and I want access to all of this instantly.

That's only part of what QT gives for trading.. but for me, I couldn't jump into a trade without assessing all I've mentioned above.

  9. I signed up with IB for about 2 days, IB customer service and their platform are both HORRIBLE!, I closed my account quicker than your mama can get your peanut butter and jelly sandwich ready for your dinner. I have 2 other accts besides Ameritrade so if IQ quits supporting QT I have other options ....dont fret I will still be able to trade but thanks for your concern!:D

But will all the indicators and chart options remain the same?
Already the Advanced Screener and some other things
    are gone.
