Jerry, can TD stop us from using qt once we have it downloaded, by closing the server? I mean , am I independent with my QT or could i still be deprived of it by action from the owner?? thanks for your reply. elementare
Beginning about a week ago, the intraday QT charts began displaying bad data; perhaps 2 bars total of data on a 30-minute chart, for an entire day, for each of the past 20 days. Intraday backfill (TDA) doesn't seem to fix the problem, either. I uninstalled QT and deleted the QT folder, then downloaded again to see if it would resolve the matter, but it did not. RT data is TDA. I don't know what happened. If someone has a suggestion as to what to try I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
you have to download the patch and follow jerry instruction posted a few messages up in this thread. if you have problem holler...
Thank you Elementare, that solved the issue. Ydfah, the spike filter was/is set to 30. As a long time QT user I've never seen anything like this happen before; I didn't alter anything, and just one day it began acting up. Thanks again.
Apparently the data feed from Interactive Brokers has changed again with the release of the latest TWS version. Volume is not being picked up by QT. Is anyone working on a new patch?
that would be unlikely. Check if you see "Cumulative Volume" show up in TWS itself on the same symbols. Specifically Cumulative Volume, not any of the other volume columns
Hi Jerry, I'm not sure what you're asking. I don't see "cumulative volume" as an option for TWS configuration fields. I don't know if this helps, but, the release notes for the latest version of TWS state the following: "Change Format for Volume Volume display has been changed to include three significant digits plus a letter for volumes greater than or equal to 1000. For example, a volume of 1970 would display as 1.97K; 828000 would display as 828K, 444,000,000 would be 444M. This format applies to volume in TWS and in mobileTWS applications." Note that I'm not running the latest version of TWS (25). I'm running TWS version 918.9b, but the same thing seems to happen in TWS version 25. If you bring up the raw data panel in QT, it used to update trade by trade (for futures contracts, don't know about stocks), but since the release of TWS 25 QT's raw data only updates with periodic large blocks. The strange thing is that the individual trades do show up in real time in TWS's Book Trader panels as well as TWS's time and sales window, but not in the volume for TWS charts. There are also other problems in TWS e.g., Book Trader shows the high and low of the day inaccurately for periods of time, that is, it will show the low of the day as being above the current level of trading and then, when the next volume block "prints" the correct low will show in Book Trader. It seems that IB has not thought things through before implementing the change. I'm afraid that I am not sufficiently computer literate to figure this one out on my own, but I hope this additional information helps.
