After being thru all the blowares like TOS and NinjaTrader, I still like the simplicity of QuoteTracker. But my QT stops working on TDA quotes for a little while. It keep complaining about the login/password which I had no problem logging in with IE8. ( My current version is 3.9.8a, it works fine with IB but can only download 10 days' data). When testing with the https://apis.tdameritrade.com/ link on IE8, it says HTTP 500 Internal Server Error. Thanks in advance for any advice.
I think the error message is what you want to see when you run your test url. If you get a security warning pop-up box and a certificate warning when you run your url test, that would be a problem. IE 8 should not have a certificate problem. Are you saying you have IE8 on the PC that is not able to get TDAT data through QuoteTracker?
login issues would be unrelated to the recent backfill issue or the patch. You may want to contact TDA support for that. The most common reasons for the TDA Login issue are: 1) if you added ability to trade futures on your account, API access will be disabled. 2) if the date on your computer is set to wrong year 3) if IE browser is messed up accessing secure sites (gets security certificate error) or is not updated with the latest root certificates. (particularly if using Win 2000) 4) locked out account
jerry, tried that, first clear all data, then backfill, still doesn't work. closed the program and reopened a couple of times and then clear and backfill, too. really i'm just glad the program's working again. thanks again for the help with the patch. would love to have that 200sma on my hourly chart, so if you can think of anything it might be, let me know.
In response to my concerns about the dangers of running unofficially patched programs, Catoosa said: "There are many QT long time user who are now using this patch. The patch has solved your backfill quote problem so open the QT program and see. I have used this and two previous patches during the past year to keep my QT program going and the patches have all worked." I trusted my accounts and other information to Quotetracker.com for years. I thought my initial note that I had no intention to insult anyone here was sufficient. I suspect that those of you who feel compelled to be sarcastic with me have little or no experience as a Systems Analyst/Programmer of code like QT, and consequently can't conceive of how simple it would be to capture username/password pairs and IM them anywhere. I think this is very unlikely but who will you sue if someone logs in to your account 6 months from now and does damage?
Just scared that Jerry could get tired of answer all these question + today there is no market...So can i help u?
david63 i think you're being a little paranoid. the guy doesn't want to answer the question, he doesn't have to answer it. he says he's now got 60 days intraday with this patch. i've made what i think are the correct changes and it still only brings up 20. i'm not gonna spend anymore time on it, but i don't think there's anything you can help with.
There was a similar question in this or another QT thread. You can backfill only as many days as your quote data provider delivers (3, 10, 20, whatever), but if you don't clear the data it will accumulate up to the the full 60 days capacity. Better remove your last post ...
