QuoteTracker To Be Finished End of 2011

Discussion in 'Trading Software' started by garbar, Jan 12, 2011.

  1. I hear ya Stock777.

I dared the management team at TD Ameritrade (several years ago) to sit in a conference room with coffee and donuts and their crappy snap-shot filtered feed with all of its horrendous lag, and after a day and a half of trading.... let me know if they felt like they had a FAIR opportunity at making money.

I never heard back from them.
    Idiots!

  2. Well, I just downloaded the qtfix.zip file from zippyshare and extracted it to my \Program Files\Quotetracker directory. However, I haven't yet tried to run it. I guess I'm just not as trusting as many of you here.

Since I'm new here and don't recognize anyone posting in this thread, I trust I'm not insulting anyone by asking for a convincing argument that it is safe to run this program, patched by an unknown entity, thereby entrusting my life savings at my quote source to the good will of that entity...

    Thanks,
    Paranoid One

  3. the only thing i ask jerry, is that if some how a new and separate version of qt ever becomes available, that it include more data beyond 20 days intraday data. i, many times, need to use a 200 sma and that's not possible with less than almost 30 days of data. and another thing, give us the option as to when we start the first hour. i'd rather my first hour be 9 to 10, not 9:30 to 10:30 with the last hour being only a half hour. most of the traders in the room i use have theirs setup as the former, and sometimes the pattern will look completley different on, say and hourly chart. just a couple of thoughts. it'd be also nice to insure the product by having even more sources of data, hopefully many that are cheap. love the product. charts are crisp and clear. appreciate greatly the help on the patch, too.

  4. 200 sma on the hourly chart, that needs about thirty days data to have it draw.

So don't install it. It makes no difference to us if your backfill doesn't work.

Since this thread is now up to 86 pages, that should tell you something about the patch being safe or not. Have you seen any posts complaining how they lost their life savings because the patch short circuited their computer and sold all of their holdings for zero?
There are other threads regarding QT as well over the past year. Read up. Then make your decision.

  7. If we ever do another QT like app, I am sure we will make it support more than 20 days on intraday. Meanwhile, note that the patch makes it so you can have up to 60 days on intraday charts. (that was lost way way back in the early pages)

There are many QT long time user who are now using this patch. The patch has solved your backfill quote problem so open the QT program and see. I have used this and two previous patches during the past year to keep my QT program going and the patches have all worked.

  10. well, thanks jerry, however i went and changed my " maximum days on chart" and even the " consolidate chart after " to 60 days, but it's still only showing 20 days. clicked okay, it even says 60 even after i tried restarting the program, too. any ideas?
