Don't worry about who and why, just be grateful. I suspect rewriting QT would be a massive undertaking, though with modern development tools it could be done by a few dedicated programmers.
Hello ydfah, am w stockwatch from sometime right now and i dont have anythin to complain..right the price is not cheap as yahoo one..but it's ok..
Thanks to those that helped with the latest backfill patch. I got it to work with TDA's feed/backfill. Every day I wake up, turn on my computer and cross my fingers that QT will still work for me. I am surprised it still is given the info out there. It seems they keep delaying shutting it down. I have been trying to ignore the inevitable...life without QT. Not to beat a dead horse, but has anyone come up with a decent solution to use once QT is no more? I have been testing multiple platforms and have not found one that I am comfortable with yet. Nothing compares to QT, but we are going to have to settle with something. Thanks for the help. It's nice to know so many people are going through the same thing.
Tried the patch but my error coming up is "One or more of the files required for this program to function is missing (REKLAMA.PAR, ZANUDA.PAR)." Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. If someone needs payment to keep this program working, my checkbook is open.
That means you are running the STOCKS.EXE program from a directory other than the main QuoteTracker directory. Don't try to run it from the zip file. You have to copy the files to the main Quotetracker directory, then start QT the way you normally would. Usually it is: C:\Program Files\Quotetracker or c:\Program Files (x86)\QuoteTracker
Thanks Jerry. I just placed a backup file (zip) on my desktop and erased everything with QT on my computer. Downloaded a fresh copy and installed it. Then replaced the stocks file (the QT logo with the dollar sign) with the one in the qtfix unzipped file. It now says QT version 3.9.8a on startup. I then restored my my backup from my desktop and it looks great. Took a while to backfill my symbols on the initial run but all is good. Thanks also to whoever supplied this fix. Who do I call at TD to find out a price for this old outdated program that nobody wants or uses?
Of course it is speculation. I am just putting the pieces of the puzzle together because I'm bored. Evidently this program is written in Delphi, which means absolutely nothing to me. But most say Delphi is outdated??? But somebody knows how it works with QT. Ok. I will shut up now. Back to the computer screen. Slow day. BTW, for all of you who feel bad that you are not paying for this program, feel free to PM me, and I will give you my Paypal address. I will ease your guilt trip.
