how many times can you patch this thing before you realize you really need a modern supported app? might be wise to start working toward one now?
I am using Vista and this worked for me. Right click on the qtfix file and and select properties. Then click on the security tab. Click on Edit (to change permissions click edit). Then check "allow" for all user names.
It is likely that modifying, decompiling, or facilitating distribution of this code without permission of the copyright owner, TDA, is illegal. So I doubt your question will get the answer, at least for now. I can think of several people that could possibly do the patches. Could be certain family member of Jerry's, others back in Austin associated at one time with QT operations. Then, of course, there is ... Also, a poster on another ET thread claims "intimate" knowledge of the code. BTW. The handle "Ydfah" goes way back on the QT message board. For me, I hope this question just goes away. cheers
Ok. Just forget I asked. I have been a user since the beginning of time, and I suppose there must be many others as well. I've looked at other charting programs, however why change. Hopefully this situation will resolve itself in time with somebody either taking over from TD, or simply create a clone. Either way, I can maneuver through this program blindfolded, and it works perfect for me. Candles turn green I buy, red I sell. Easy. Boring.
Here's one more report of success with the new patch...both IB and TDAmeritrade backfills working again. And with the bonus that market holidays are updated to beginning of next year. Good job, mystery person!
