I used to use both of them. Historical charts seems to have trouble showing dividend payments and there is no indicator for dividend yield.
So I downloaded the patch. Now what? Do I extract them into my Quotetracker file which I have located in "program files"? I extracted them into "my documents" but of course I suppose that does nothing. Help please.
Exit QuoteTracker then extract the patch files into the folder that QuoteTracker is installed in, overwriting any duplicates when prompted. If you're uncomfortable doing that, first copy the entire QuoteTracker folder to a backup location. This way if something goes wrong, you can copy the original files back to the QuoteTracker folder again and be right where you were prior to installing the patch. After copying the patch files it shouldn't be necessary to restart your computer, but if something doesn't seem to be working right, then try a restart.
Historical Charts will show Dividends and Yields IF you use "BigCharts" as the backfill source for Historical data. OPTIONS/Data Sources menu, HIST BACKFILL tab.
I really can't understand why others are wanting to start using QT with it about to disappear from the radar. Imo, move onto something else. This thread keeps coming up, but it's a dead horse.
I set "BigCharts" as the backfill source but can't see anywhere to show yield. Also with a monthly dividend stock such as NTX, several dividends for this year are missing which is why I preferred being able to use the BigChart option. Thanks Jerry.
since the data is coming from BC, it should be the same. Try clearing the data on the chart and see if the dividend data will fill in. As for Yield, its not there (my mistake in the original reply). If I remember correctly, it was not a piece of data available in the raw data coming from BC.
