For quite some time there are so many fake prints in volume also in after hours. So Range charts and Constant Volume charts becomes wacky and freezes the QT some times.(due to over load) So the only solution I do is to clear the data up to the culprit period (last 5/first five etc) or delete the whole data and re download and try. Another strange issue. "Update all historical data" has disappeared. Intraday data ,updates when you give a single update command. So I need to go indivually one by one and update historical chart.(60 symbols in two portofolio's) Iam still getting 20 days data only. Any easy to understand fix to get 60 day intrada data? QT has never let me down,If I only wait for my paint bar to give signal and stick with it till it changes ,I will be richer. Buying too soon and selling too soon inspite QT says "No" is the problem.
Backfill All - that depends on the backfill source. It should be enabled for the defaults. Did you change it? 60 days on intraday - assuming you got the patch, go to OPTIONS/Edit Preferences menu, CHARTS tab, MULTI-DAY sub-tab and increase the max # of days there to 60
So could we use the program indefinitely without support? I personally don't have any problems with the last release. My main question is whether quotetracker must connect to ameritrade to be functional. Could we just use it with the "ads" and data 3rd party feeds?
See the comments below from an earlier post (back around page 29 of this board) This allows you to run QT..no ad's etc..... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- shfly Registered: Dec 2000 Posts: 154 08-30-11 01:57 PM Quote from ydfah: Go to: http://myfreefilehosting.com/f/261b2f3fa7_3.78MB Then about in the middle of the page look for Click Here To Download in blue letters. Click that to start the download. Here is what's different after applying the patch: 1) Registration - This version is always registered for everyone, no matter what 2) max # of days on intraday charts increased from 20 to 60 - it still defaults to 20, but you can go to preferences and increase to 60. NOTE: right now there are 2 sources that can backfill 60 - TDA and IQFeed. But for others, QT will still store the data so you will build it up over time. Thanks for the patch. (Actually, today was the first time I had an issue with logon to QT & IQFeed...Gave me only 2days intraday+also the ads, that was solved with patch/re-entering the reg code). Re. item #2: How do you get more than the 10 days of intraday on the charts? Cannot go beyond the 10 in preferences...Using IQFeed as my feed...(Don't use AMTD as my broker).
Dumb question on my part for not reading the entire thread, but is QT doomed or not by the end of 2011?
Instead of Yahoo for Historical back fill, using Default ,solved my problem. Thanks Medved Ji! Now below "Back up all symbols" ,"Historical Back up all symbols " appears. I have downloaded "qtfix" zipped file . First I inserted in to "QT" folder in the "programme files" and then tried to unzip it. It did n't. Then I kept it in the desktop ,unzipped and sent to QT folder. But still Iam not able to increase to 60 days. ( Edit preferences-multiday timeframe-max no days tab) Iam a TD a/c holder and use TDAM for quotes. I guess the patch is not implemented yet even though sitting inside "QT programme " folder. I have to figure it out how? Iam using win 7 ultimate. I have no log in issues after the unzipped patch went in to the folder.
