Ever hear that old expression, "Better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt?"
TDA will be shutting down the registration servers. For QT to function, as of now, it communicates with the registration server when you start up the program. The patch I found addresses this issue so that communication with the registration servers will no longer be required.
Go to: http://myfreefilehosting.com/f/261b2f3fa7_3.78MB Then about in the middle of the page look for Click Here To Download in blue letters. Click that to start the download. Here is what's different after applying the patch: 1) Registration - This version is always registered for everyone, no matter what 2) max # of days on intraday charts increased from 20 to 60 - it still defaults to 20, but you can go to preferences and increase to 60. NOTE: right now there are 2 sources that can backfill 60 - TDA and IQFeed. But for others, QT will still store the data so you will build it up over time.
It's back up somewhat. The colors are off and the posts for the past few months seem to be missing. But give it some time; Rome wasn't rebuilt overnight!
I am a registered QT user. I had to re install QT. When I entered my registration code, (which it asked for) I received a message that I had hit the limit of 5 re-registers for this code. Has anyone run into this recently? Are new registration codes available? Also, has anyone downloaded & tried the patch that was posted above? Any problems? Thanks!
I installed the patch on Linux with wine, and it works fine. I guess you can just reinstall it, then install the patch and it should work allright.
Just use IB charts, if IB is your broker. IB charts have become usable, finally, after all these years.
