I understant it will keep working for people who purchased a license. It will likely stop working for people who intend to use it for free (assuming it hasn't stopped working yet).
I spoke with them about this a few months ago. It will still work, however should your quote source change something on their end which then makes it incompatible with QT, it most likely would stop working or have problems or issues. And, there would be nobody on QT's end to fix the problem. Perhaps some white knight will come along and pick up QT, as it does seem to have amassed a good number of users over the past 20 years or so. It would be a shame to see it wither away.
The problem is TD Ameritrade own copyright on QuoteTracker... and the latest indication is they are not planning to sell it or give it away. So, it's not a question of an independent developer dedicating a little time to it.
We all understand it is owned by TDA. That is a given. However something may change down the road, and QT may live on. Time will tell.
As support for QT declines and more competition crowd the space, it's getting more and more difficult for a "white knight" to make an offer to TDA they can't refuse but the time will tell. Also it's not uncommon to buy a competing firm with the purpose of "clearing the space".
Does anyone know if the IB data feed is still working with QT? I am looking at them as a Broker / Data Feed provider. Thanks!
