Jerry: Thank you for your answer in post 1818. I wander when open some stocks (like FAS, TXT), the answer is 'not enough data collected' in intraday chart window. If I open the chart during market time, it starts show chart from the time when I open it. Only for some stocks, others work well. Is it something setup wrong? Thank you. Jason
@Jinzhou - We have not publicly released Medved Trader yet. We have a number of people beta testing it but I don't want to do a public release yet. @Jason Wu - Again, that is because you don't have Backfill working. Either not turned on or don't have a working source selecting, so QT is only showing data for periods when Level I quotes were being received. If you add a new symbol to QT, it won't have any data. right click on the chart and select BACKFILL
Jerry I've noticed for some time that when reading news articles in QuoteTracker, during the article load, the entire program will freeze, and has to be shut down using Task Manager. This happens to about 1/3 of the articles, on different computers using Win XP or Win 7. The same article will load fine separately using Windows IE. Is there something in QT settings that I should change to avoid these lockups? Thanks
@JSwaft, don't know of anything that can be done to resolve that other than changing the QT news window to 2 pane. Jerry
Jerry, I am running QT with TWS, IB data feeds, and this week a few symbols (CSCO, INTC, MSFT) are not updating in the QT windows, and show no new data when I right click on Raw Data/Time. All other symbols (100s of them) are working fine. On the IB quote pages these 3 symbols are updating normally. If I switch the quote data source in QT to TD Ameritrade the symbols start updating in QT. But then I lose the Emini data from IB, so that is not a solution. I tried clearing all the data from MSFT, for example, and that does nothing. Is there any other remedy I can try? And why would TWS show the data updating, but not QT? Many thanks.
There is a limit to the number of symbols you can stream via IB. Are you sure you are not just hitting the limit? Normally it is 100
Read this thread: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?threadid=279936 Short answer is use ISLAND:MSFT, ISLAND:CSCO and ISLAND:INTC.
jeb, Thanks! That did the trick. I wonder why those 3 symbols only suddenly require the ISLAND: prefix after working for many, many years?
Jerry Going from 3 to 2 panes as you suggested solved the problem. Articles now open without error in a separate browser window. Thanks
Ciao Jerry, do u remember what symbol i have to use to backfill the ^DJI with Yahoo Backfill? THX David
